W221 S65 AMG with custom exhaust - sound clip and pic

Hello all, my brother and I recently tackled the dreaded face-lift project on our fathers S65 AMG. Here's a comparison pic, and a link to the cold-start video with USP Motorsport cat-less downpipes installed.

That just made me horny!! How does it sound on the road and how about inside the car noise level?

you can turn off the rear 02 so the CEL is not triggered

We feel the same way. On the road the car actually sounds significantly better under load (more aggressive). My dad is fairly conservative when it comes to upgrading cars and says the exhaust note is perfect.
No drone inside and you can still carry a conversation without having to raise your voice. I was planning on posting an interior driving video, as well as an exterior accelerating vid so you all can hear that as well.

Thank you! As of right now the check engine light is on. The down-pipes them selves shouldn't have caused it to come on, so we're working through that as we speak. - As Shardul mentioned, you can always turn off the rear O2 sensors. Let me know if you have any further questions.

You got the V8 facelifted grille instead of the V12 grille. Also why were the 65 tips changed to 63s?

The wrong* grille was ordered from a local Mercedes dealer (their mistake), and the new one was ordered about a week ago. We still have a couple of kinks to work out on the conversion, that being one of them. As for the tips.. The exhaust is a renntech cat-back, thus the mufflers/tips are renntech.

sounds good but poor car your revving the **** out of it and its ice cold! I was thinking of getting the Renntech exhaust did you notice any improvement in the sound or was that more from the downpipes?

I personally like the 65 style tips better. You may want to consider doing a tip swap (while keeping your Renntech mufflers).

Thank you, but the diameter of the tips are much larger then the S65 tips. Probably can't tell but you will be able to once some photos are up. That and the 'Renntech' engraving goes with the car.

The car is still under factory warranty right now, I believe we'll be leaving the turbos alone until the mileage/time run out. That being said Speedriven does have some attractive kits.

We'll see when the time comes.
