Sorry for the late response, I'm running 20's; front 245/35/20 rear 275/30/20. I bought the Merc as is with those wheels on. I just ordered the lowering links from Airmatic Lowering Links from U.K, dunno when I'll get those , but as soon as I do those are going on.

The car needs some work for sure, I have to change out the Motor Mounts and Tranny mounts and still do the spark plug change out, thats going to be fun 16 plugs Other than that, I'm really ecstatic on the purchase and drive of the s55 as compared to my S type R Jag. Thanks to all for the warm welcoming induction

Car looks OK as it is, but defo needs them lowering links. You'll be quite glad when they're in, it will completely change the looks of the car.

5mm on the links is about 1" on the car, or thereabouts, but you'll have to play with it and find out yourself. Just make sure you dont twist the old links out too hard without any kind of lube or you might end up breaking one of the ride height modules as they're only plastic. Then you're stuck!!!

Once the new ones are in start the car and leave for a couple of minutes to settle itself, then you'll get a true indication of where its going to sit. You'll notice the car twitch around as it adjusts to its new height.

Front 12 plugs are pretty simple, the rear 2 on either side are gona be fun. If your doing this yourself then please remember which lead goes on which bit of the coilpack as each coilpack has 2 leads on it.

Oh yeah, with the coilpacks, when removing them make sure you pull them from the metal sleeve, not the plastic/rubber top.

Do you recommend taking the bottom link out first then the top one? I was going to use a WD40 lubricant equivalent such as PB blaster to lube it before popping them out. YES most definately the plastic I seen in the video where the links hold on to, look pretty delicate

I found a youtube video on a how to install the links, its a pretty good video I'm assuming the CL55 is more or less the same setup to install the links on the S55

Thanks again, and those 16 plugs are going to be fun to change, especially those near the firewall Its a good thing I bought that special 17mm open end wrench with that curvature to pop out the boots with and thanks for the tip on pulling from the metal portion, lolz.....those coil packs aren't cheap if broken. I'm going to do the plugs once I get the mounts changed out first. Slowly trying to get this Merc back up to par since acquiring it

Cheers!

The guy who made that video used to be a member on here, and has made a fair few helpful guides like that (but god, he talks a lot, that should have beena 4 minute video at best).

The CL and the S-class are pretty much the same car when it comes to suspension and engine, just the body is different. Basically the CL is a coupe version of the S-class.

So how he does the links on his car is exactly how you "should" be doing yours, as thats how it will describe it to you in the instructions you recieve. I however did not want to chance twisting them too much as i felt the plastic would break. I guess every car is different but over here in the UK when you've been driving it through 8 winters then parts like these are not so easy to remove. I removed all 4 wheels when i did mine to make sure i had good access and i could see what i was doing.

On the fronts - where he has taken his first link off at the top, look just above that in the metal wish bone and you will see a 10mm nut. I removed that and the whole top side came off which made it a lot easier for me and the whole link was just dangling there with a lot more room to maneuver it.

On the rears - look below the subframe just underneath each link and you will see a 13mm nut. Remove this and the whole link moves upwards and again gives you a lot more room to swing it about to twist it off.

These are only guides from me as thats what worked best for me, you may or may not need to do it like this. I would suggest you take your time as like i say, each car is different and where they may simply twist off on one car they may not necessarily do the same on another.

Cheers!
Iv had mine for about a year and a half now and i havnt had to spend more than just basic servicing on it.

But in the last 2 months, i too thought i would bring it up to par:-

1. Pulsation Damper
2. Engine Mounts
3. Gearbox Mount
4. Alternator
5. ABC/Power Steering Fluid Flush
6. Brake Fluid Flush
7. Supercharger Fluid Flush
8. Rear Diff Fluid Flush
9. Fuel Filter
10. Rear Subframe Bushes (the biggest pain in the ****).
11. Full set of Brake Discs and Pads from the stealers (not yet fitted though).

There are a couple more things on the list, namely one of the rear struts playing up so i have to get another one of those which aint cheap. And getting the phone working again, which also aint gona be cheap.

And then in about another 4 weeks (20th July) Jerry from Eurocharged is coming over so she's also getting an x-pipe, I/C Pump, Pulley and a Remap.

All just to "bring it back up to par"

Wow, your list is almost as long as mine, but hell getting Eurocharge to do those mods on july 20th is going to be aWESOME for you ,

My to do list for now prioritized:
1. Engine Mounts and Tranny mount
2. Air/fuel Induction cleaning from the throttle body using Seafoam hooked up to a machine; getting it done by a professional. I'm getting the dreaded "Recirculated Air Flap Actuator error code M16/7" fingers crossed its just a sticky valve flap being stuck open causing huge power loss, no boost whatsover(pray to god you or anyone else doesn't get this error code). ** Mechanic saw this same issue on a 05 S55 with same error code and he swore using Seafoam and it fixed the problem and reset the error code and so far it has held up; if thats not the case then I'm Fcked!
3.Plugs/Air filter change.
4.Tranny drain and fill/new gasket and filter kit plus new electrical connector as well.
5.Supercharger fluid change.
6. Fuel filter and REar Diff fluid has already been changed as well new brakes for rear and front.

Ok fingers crossed I won't need anything else after that.................
