Took the plunge

Hello everyone, this Saturday I purchased my first Mercedes. Its a 2003 S55 with 110k on the clock.
I do need to replace some sensors but overall I'm satisfied. I don't have any abc leeks that I can see and everything seems to work normal except my rear headrests and my left blinker(even after a new bulb).
I'm very excited about this car but I drive like an old lady so I don't break anything sooner than it will break itself. The exterior only has very minor blemishes(2 door dings) but the interior looks and even smells almost new. Very happy with my purchase. In the picture it looks silver but its more of a dark grey mattalic.

Welcome to the Forum. I am curious though. If you drive like an old lady whatever made you purchase such a brute of a car?

The power is there if I want it plus there is a prestige about the s55. I'm not to into the body lines of the s550, s63, s65 but the lines on the s55 are elegant and refined. I feel the same way about the gs series from Lexus which I also currently own. The 98-2005 just had elegant lines. I don't know call me semi old fashioned. I can say with confidence that I cannot even compare the two cars as far as anything else is concerned though

I agree - in my opinion the design is far nicer than the 221 or even the 140.

Oh man I wanted a 140 for a long time but now everything has super high mileage or just isn't in good shape.

No offense, but the lines on my s65 are pretty damn close to identical.

Congrats on the car. It is beautiful! Check your intercooler pump make sure it's working. Get an ABC fluid flush done and all the other preventive maintenance items out the way.

As for the turn signal bulb problem, I had the same issue. Take out the headlight and solder in a new connection. The socket melted and plastic got in the way of the connection.

W220 are from 2000 to 2006, so an S65 AMG is identical to the S55. Perhaps you are talking about the W221?

Yes the w221. I'm sorry if I wasn't more specific its the left rear tail that gives the blinker warning. I also discovered today that my trunk doesn't work properly. Now the abc flush and intercooler pump I'll have to check into. Thanks much for the advice.

Checked the pump and it seems to be fine, did a oil change waiting to do the abc pump.
