2007 Mercedes S550
Oil Overfill Damage?
On the last oil change on my 2007 s550 (w221), the oil check shows too much oil was put in. I have taken out enough oil to make the measurement right. What damage can be done by putting too much oil in?

The excess oil can be sucked through the intake crank vent and into the cylinders. Ring damage can occur if I remember correctly.

JoeNobody, thanks for the information, bad as it is!

Hvacdude, I took out about 2 quarts!

Is there any way to check if damage was done? If I take it to Mercedes, can they do something to check or will they just run diagnostics and charge me?

Have a compression test done. If that looks good then you are probably just fine. If compression doesn't pass you need to rebuild motor or replace ðŸ˜*

If it was enough oil to hurt anything, and for long enough, you would have noticed a blue cloud of smoke following you around.
