Door chime?
EDIT: if it's the ignition control module you're referring too - what exactly would be the symptoms of a failed or improperly coded one? As far as I can tell, the IC module works fine in that the key when inserted into the ignition starts the car. The only other trouble I've had that could be related is that Keyless Go doesn't work. I get a message on my dashboard that the key isn't recognized although the buttons on both fobs lock and unlock the vehicle, plus start the car when inserted into the key slot. I'm led to believe however that the keys or car needs to be recoded.

1. When first starting your S65, the right side of the IC which has the seatbelt indicator comes on. In my case, it comes on and stays illuminated for maybe 5 or 10 seconds, then extinguishes itself without me actually buckling up. What is the normal behavior of this light?
2. When driving and your seatbelt is unbuckled, is the dash light supposed to turn on with an audible warning tone? In my case, it does not.
3. I've already tested the door chime - it does not work, even with the key in the ignition and the lights on.
4. Apart from the above, everything else seems to work. All lights on the instrument cluster function. The EIS works fine with both keys, although the keyless go does not function - KEY NOT RECOGNIZED is displayed in the IC. Additionally, when I lock or unlock the doors, the corner lights flash but there is no audible beep/chirp/honk normally associated with locking and unlocking cars. The panic siren does function however.
I've looked at the fuses by the passenger rear seat - none seem to be blown. The manual also says there's a fuse panel by the front passenger side dashboard, but I couldn't pry that corner off without fear of damaging it. Otherwise, the fuses in the engine compartment seem OK as well.
Further more keyless go requires a chip card similar to a credit card just thicker.
Go to the dealer parts counter with your vin and ask them to look up keys for your car to verify because you may have keyless go programmed to your smart keys, and if this is the case if you have them in your pocket by your cell phone they often don't work when the batteries are low.
You can have the chime programmed on, and turn off the message that says don't forget chip card every time the door is open.
