2012 s65 rotors vented and solid?

hey everyone just posted pics of my car and another member noticed I had solid rotors I went down n checked n sure enough the front are solid and rear are vented .does this sound right or is it stock ? this is my first benz so in very green on the car still . do u guy think I will have heat probs etc..?if so ill swap asap thanx for input everyone!

I think, your (F&R) Rotors should be vented, but not drilled, only pot slotted..

2006 W220 S65 AMG
FWIW, these are the front rotors on my 220 S65. They're drilled and are floating (hub and disc can be separated). Despite the heat veins, they're still in spec according to my micrometer.


This is a front brake assembly for a 221 S65. Rotors appear to be solid and dimpled rather than drilled through. No slots.

Maybe your rotors are wore down past the half drilled holes

If they're that worn that the dimples are gone, then the OP should also be able to discern a rather tall ridge at the edge of the rotor. In that case, they should definitely be replaced.

If i'm not mistaken;

07-13 "W221 S63" or even "S65", doesn't comes with Front "P:030" or "P98" 2-piece Rotors, isn't..!??!

yeah I think I'm just going to change them to be safe .lil bit of a ridge on it nothing crazy probably has a few months of life for sure but screw it they r going in trash.thanx again
