2004 S55 AMG (Broadband Warning)

I've posted this in both S Class forums because some people don't visit the other and vice versa.

Went to view the new 2004 S55 to replace our 2003 version. The new one has more toys like keyless go, ventilated aircon seats front and rear, climate control in the rear, boot closure, tv tuner, dvd and the updated Comand. Both have privacy glass fitted and are LWB, so it has the extra toys the LWB comes with.

Here are pics and ill add some more pics when we take it home.

Thanks for all the comments. I really like the new rims too, much more aggressive and suit the bodystyling of the car better.

ericktu, im sure the 2004 spec S Class will have the updated Comand with 3d Nav.

My old man paid £68k for the '03 but only afterwards did he notice that it had been resprayed along the right hand side, (hes worked for GM and Porsche as a final finish man for about 25 years). Anyway he found out that it also had 2 new doors aswell and all the respraying was done in a low bake oven, in other words, its never as good as the paintwork from a factory and he felt that as he was paying £68k($120k), he wanted a pretty damn near perfect car so he sold it back to them for the same price and bought the '04 at a discounted price.

WOW GREAT CAR!!! If my mom decideds to go for a MY04, is there any chance that she can get the options available in the UK? Like the 3D Navigation, which I think is incredible!!! I still like the old rims better though. Do MY03 have updated Nav, too?

Cheers Hell of alot of A-Classes, I wonder how many of those we could get for the S55:p

Oh damn, btw how could I forget, THE DAMN COMAND SCREEN MOVES! Thats right, the screen slides back/up and down so you can insert a tape cassette, yes TAPE! and also the DVD/MP3-CD.

By the time customers start receiving the S65, the new shape will be out about a year after. When we come to upgrading our current S55 in a couple years, a new shape S65 would be a far better bet than wasting £130k for a W220 S65.

YES, we do! For the 04 models, you do get the same "THE DAMN COMAND SCREEN MOVES! Thats right, the screen slides back/up and down so you can insert a tape cassette, yes TAPE! and also the DVD/MP3-CD."

In the 04 model, just go the Nav setting screen and choose the BIRDSEYE VIEW to make it "3D".

I think this has been discussed in the audio forum. Some people are even burning MP3s onto DVD to play in the car already. Wish I had a DVD burner....imagine how many MP3 songs you can put in there.

It's all good......... except for those new twin spoke rims or whatever they're called, like the older ones.
