W220 S65 AMG
Hi all,
I would like to learn little bit more about S65 W220 from the collector's perspective.
Do you know it is going to be significant in the future like SL73/70/72 or E60 w124? Do you maybe know what are the production numbers and units sold (USA, Europe and rest)?
How does it look comparing to SLs and CLs? This is a truely lovely car with tons of power.

In general, it's next to impossible to predict the future of "collector cars" as they tend to be random at best. Roll your dice.
If you use it, it will be a HUGE roll of the dice as these cars are extremely complex and high maintenance. Even if you baby it, I would put my bets against an already 10 year old high end luxury car lasting another 10-20 years under daily usage....
If you are looking for an investment, look outside of cars.

MBWorld Fanatic!
The fact they were one year only and less than 200 made is cool, but I doubt it will ever be as rare or special as the other stuff you mentioned. Cars from that era don't hold up well with time, and unless you had one that was perfectly preserved in a bubble for 30 years, it will be quite a car to maintain as it ages.
