Looking at S65
S65/S63 brakes
Hello everyone,
I am looking to (very soon) buy an 08-09 S65 or 11-12 S63. I am aware that the dealership wants around 7.5k (6k in parts) for full pad/rotor changes front and back. Wanted to see if anyone has figured a cheaper way to get the parts. Also wanted to ask any S65/S63 owners how often you have to replace brakes and tires. If there is a thread on this already, I apologize. I looked but couldn't find one newer than 2015. Thanks for any help.

That being all being said doing the brakes on a S65 was actually a very easy job overall.
Good luck.

not sure why it’s not showing on their site, but I have these on my s63 and are great, half the price of oem and they are 2 piece so if you ever have to change rotors again they are even cheaper the next time because you don’t have to buy the main Assembly.

DN717,
Those do look great, but I couldn't find them on the girodisc website either. Also, this might be a newby question, but is your car from after the facelift? My calipers (09 S63) are different.

I did these with solid calipers. Got rid of the heavy two piston sliding calipers the car came with.
Seems like the rotors are 405mm so bigger then stock. 415mm will fit under this stock 20" wheel. If you are a savage as I am you will tear up these rotors too.

The kit I fitted to the car came from 'The Tire Rack'
Someone must have special ordered it and backed out once they had it.
It was straight forward to install. Zero drama. A nit to pick though... I had figured that in using big vented rotors on hats the brakes would not warp so easily. I cooked these just fine; thanks. Too many stops from the limiter.
Bajaleo.... Call Girodisc. They still use telephones and will answer it. Jay had them make up a set of rotors on hats for his E-55. He is tickled with them.
