S65 Amg engine issues

Hi, I recently bought an 08 s65. The car now has no power and revs very slowly even when In neutral. There is also a strong smell of petrol from the exhausts. There is a misfire on 7-12 , I have attached a screenshot of the fault codes. There are also some other codes which I have listed. Any ideas of what’s wrong ?

Could be a coil pack or the ignition module.
Read up on those.

Thanks for your reply,
I have read up on those, but would that explain the smell of unburnt fuel ?

On yeah. The plugs aren't igniting the fuel, causing raw fuel to be sent through the exhaust.

Okay thanks, I will get that checked.
Any ideas about the other error codes?

None of the other systems matter to this issue but of course you want to address them later on. The V12s are notorious for having coil pack assembly failures. I'd bet money this is where your problem lies They can be repaired...and of course replaced for like $1,100 / ea.. Your choice.

First off, I'd remove the coil assembly followed by the spark plugs. Visually check their condition. If they're black and wet looking AND smell like fuel, you for sure are experiencing a rich misfire condition which is incomplete or no combustion.

Same symptoms on my 07 S65

Hi, I am having exactly the same symptoms with the same fault codes on my 2007 Mercedes S65. All of these came up from nothing (I’ve had the car for 3.000 km with no issues; I should probably mention that I have installed NGK Iridium spark plugs when I bought it. The old Mercedes ones were in terrible condition).
Have you been able to find the issue and fix it?
Thanks in advance

Coil packs... aka, “the best known reason not to buy a 65 car, pre-W222”... sorry... but at least it’s well documented... someone around here has a link to the coil pack rebuilder in the UK... good luck.
