s55 headlights
hey guys looking for a longshot answer/help here but my s55 headlights(hid) are useless, from what i understand its likely the projector housing..i see tons of knock offs on ebay but most wont fit a car with ABC, any ideas as to where to get a set of headlights without breaking the bank?

The reason is that ABC cars work with auto-leveling function as well, so a) plug, ballasts and bulbs are not the same, and b) aftermarket does not have the auto-level mechanism (except for the DEPO headlights, which I have not seen for sale in a while). Consider changing the covers only... search fleabay for "W220 headlight cover".

The E46 Bosch projectors are a direct swap. I purchased them from TRS and swapped them in. Anticipate redoing the harness inside the headlight as they are pretty crusty.

Hello, I have a 2003 S55. My headlights are also garbage.
I've tried polishing them and redoing the clearcoat, insignificant change in light output.
I've replaced the xenon bulbs, I thought they were going out. Very small change in light output. Can barely see things at night. When foglights are on, visibility increases greatly.
I think the HID projectors are fried.
There are headlights on ebay that are compatible with the factory HID but I would like to convert to a regular H7 HID system.
Replacing the covers will just improve them visually.
Has anyone done this and how did you handle the CANBUS system? How would you cancel out the errors on the dash?

you'd just need to get an H7 canbus HID conversion kit, but the fitting key and the socket wire connectors will be wrong if the housing doesn't call for H7.

micky_fl: which lights you looking at? link me, id rather just replace the entire setup at this point vs buying a new lens and a projector.
