2006 S55 wireless fob issue

Both fobs on my 2006 S55 work to unlock and lock all doors and the trunk but won’t work as Keyless Go. Aren’t the fobs in 2096 supposed to let you in the car and let the button start in the shifter work? Fobs blink when I push the buttons. I see the IR light with my phone. How do I get the car to recognize the fob as keyless go?

OP you're going to get to pay a visit to the dealer who will quiz the car as to what it thinks of things

Outside door handles are a common problem in the same vintage 211 cars with keyless go and will cause what you describe for locking/unlocking but if it is not recognizing the key inside the car you may have bigger issues.

Perhaps as easy as keys that are junk.

I don’t get much actual movement out of the start/stop button. I’m going to use a jumper wire and see if it’s the switch itself.

You need Xentry to set that back up and find the issue, no way without
or pay nice amount to your Dealer

Key fob battery change?

If I change the key fob batteries will I need to have them synced again by a dealer?

I have just purchased an S class - loving it! However my key was not working properly. (yes I only had one key) I have since purchased another from dealer $$$ wow. Both keys do the same thing, they open the car if I put right on the door reader button but not from any other distance. And neither get the trunk to lock/open/etc. The key that came with the car is key#2. BOTh keys will unlock the car and start it. Keyless Go does not work! The key I bought was a replacement key and the dealer did not kill off key#1 ( I did not even know this was an option until I heard from my non dealer mechanic.). How do we get the keys to work - as in unlock from a distance and get Keyless Go to work. My mechanic does have some diagnostic tools - not sure exactly which ones. Help! -John
