Mobil 1 M Oil

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
Of the 4 vehicles that my wife and I own, two specifically recommend Mobil 1 (an AMG and a Vette) so that is what I use. The Vette is 15W-50 (available at WalMart) and the AMG is 5W-40. The only 5W-40 Mobil 1 is the M formula, which I was surprised to find out apparently stands for Mercedes.
Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck utilizes state-of-the-art technology to deliver exceptional performance in modern low emission engines, including refrigerated units, as well as older, well-maintained engines. Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 is recommended for use in a wide range of light-duty applications such as turbo diesel pick-up trucks, as well as, heavy-duty applications and operating environments found in the on-road transport and off-road mining, construction, and agricultural industries. Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck also meets the API SL specification for gasoline engines used in mixed fleets.
The unequalled performance of Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel Truck 5W-40 is the result of extensive cooperative development work with major equipment builders and application of the latest lubrication technology. As a result, this product meets or exceeds the latest API, ACEA, JASO, and Global industry specifications for diesel engine oils, as well as the requirements of virtually all major American, European, and Japanese engine manufacturers.
With this being the case I generally use Mobil 1 0W-40 european formula.

9000rpm petrol engines , why are you concerned about more relaxed ZDDP levels of a dpf truck turbo diesel engine oil when you could be using petrol car oil with good ZDDP , guess you've never heard of oil basestocks either ?
Don't get me wrong I'm a convert to by using VW oil , for good reasons !!
But diesel truck oil in a 9000 rpm , I know what I'd use...
Wouldn't hesitate to use it all things equal, but nothing worth going out of your way (or paying a price premium) for.
If you drive your S65 in cold weather, the extra cold start protection of a 0W is worth considering. That said, in any climate, you really can't go wrong with M1 0W-40.
