S65 W221 Engine Rebuild
Hello,
I bought s65 2008 w221 with a problem. It consumed extra oil, by extra i mean 1.5 liters of oil every 500km. I have disassembled the engine. Cylinders are in good shape. They do not have marks or scratches. I am going to check if it is ellipsed or anything. Piston rings are deformed and must be changed. Piston rings does not come without pistons itself. I have checked with MB centre in my hometown. What can you recommend for me to do? I do not want to purchase very expensive pistons. I just want to change the rings.

Hello PillDrive,
So cylinders have ellipsed (means it has bumps from previous piston rings that are no visible by eye but can be determined by and deformed, i need to put cast iron sleeves. But this Rings are made for aluminium cylinders. What Can i do? is it ok to use them with cast iron steel? If not, what is the solution?

not sure how much you are spending on the rebuild and sleeving this open deck block sounds like a nightmare. I found 2 used engines one in California with 60K miles for $13K and one in Canada no mileage listed for US$11175 not sure what shipping would be for those to Georgia though.
found them on car-part.com
if you look on there at different years you can find them closer, for less money.
Wait, being that you put KMs, and spelling some words like center centre, I am guessing you might be in the Republic of Georgia, not the State of Georgia, in the US

The engine i disassembled has 25k miles on it and its in this condition. Rebuilding costs me maximum 3K USD in Georgia. So its much cheaper and after doing it i will know exactly what is under the hood. I just need to get these piston rings. it has to be compatible with cast iron sleeves that's it. If i buy one of these motors it will cost me much more and maybe this engine will need maintenance too.

You could contact NPR Europe and ask them if those rings that were listed above will work with cast iron liners. I would think they should.

CP Pistons here in the USA will make up any piston and ring set for you bespoke.
They have done well for me in the past...
I have some new chain guides and other gaskets ect I'll make you a deal on for your M275. Purchased them when I was expecting to be repairing my engine when it spat a main bearing shell into the chains. That engine got replaced with a newer low miles used engine.
