Whats that thing in the arm rest?
There is a long narrow piece of plastic with a an elastic strap in the arm rest cubby. My salesman says it's for a cell phone but I don't know of any phone that would fit in there. Looks like it would be for a remote but he said there is no remote for the car (don't know why there would be but that's what it looks like) Is he right? Is there some other purpose for this? Any info would be great!

If it's the same as I have, then I think its some sort of fixture (with a flipping cover) for the optional phone module. Check illustration 16 (for S Coupé) by following the link to the parts database below. Mine is part 120.

Mine has no flip cover. I'll try and take a picture soon so you can see. It's a similar spot but doesn't look like the schematic.

So finally had time to take a picture. Here is what I'm talking about. I don't know about anyone else but I know my smart phone won't fit in that. Any idea what it's for?

Ok, I see. Mine looks quite different. In the compartment it's a connector for the phone module and then I have the loose thing with the lid that I assume should be mounted when the phone module or a "charging station" for your specific phone is inserted.

Its a telephone module with bluetooth, you can put a sim card inside of it and I guess use it for wifi.

That must be for the eurpoean module as there are no electronics mine is literally just a plastic back with an elastic strap.

Sorry, slipped my mind. Here's a pic. It doesn't seem to have any connectors hidden behind the elastic strap, don't think it can be used to power anything, at least for US/Cdn market vehicles.

I put the passenger's (splitview) remote there. Fits perfectly. The headphones are stuffed in the rear armrest. There really isn't much storage space in this car.

I knew it was for a remote. They told me one didn't come with my care, must be for if you get splitview.
