Any issues, what exactly did you end up replacing besides the rotors and calipers?

They bolt right up. Installed new pads and wear sensors. New caliper fixing bolts (this is what is recommended).

Had a slight issue with the mounting of the front caliper wear sensor attachment bracket as the cable was just a little short. I flipped the bracket upside down and don’t have clearance issues. The cable is too short because of the larger diameter of the CCB rotors pushes the caliper up away from center just enough and there is not enough slack between the bracket and the first grommet holding the cable behind the wheel hub. I did not see an easy way to replace the cable in the wheel well, but don’t think there will be any issues.

Vacuum bled the brakes, easiest brake bleed i have ever done. Was my first time trying to vacuum bleed. Have not tested or bedded in new pads, as I finished just before a scheduled trip. Will report on that after a few weeks.

Finally got around to the Maclaren CCB bedding procedure (floating around on the web) this morning. Noticed a strong smell during the second round, not unexpected. Didn’t get out to check but the pads were probably smoking. The last round was uneventful. Incredible stopping power and at most only a little fade after repeated hard stops. After cooling down and driving later this morning the brakes are certainly more sensitive than stock steel AMG brakes. Still easy to modulate though. There is zero squeal. But I won’t be surprised if some shows up in colder weather.

Talking to several MBZ service managers, the CCB brakes on these cars need to be fully re-heated every so often similar to the bedding procedure. (about 3 every times you drive) If not done periodically, the brakes will squeal at about 3K-5K miles. Once that happens, there's no fix other than to replace the rotors and pads (about $20K) Squealing was the number one complaint with these cars when purchased with CCBs. AMG's steel brakes are more than adequate for this car. Obviously, this is not a track car, thus, driving it on a track aggressively will eventually destroy the brakes.

Interesting, but hope that’s not going to be the case, at least for me! This is a daily driver so we will see! I can certainly try to work in an aggressive brake session in here and there but a full rebedding procedure would be too annoying to try to do regularly..

Interesting. Do they recommend this in the owner’s manual?

Nothing in the manual. One service manager told me a simple way to do this. Every 1000 miles, find a remote/desolate road and there, stop the car aggressively from 70 MPH down to full stop min 5 times in a row, preferably 10.

Yes, I'm still active on here. You do not own my car. I have it, I'll always have it. It's over a thousand horsepower.

What color is it? I traded in my 2017 s63 AMG coupe about a month ago. It was white with black wheels and a black spoiler out back.

Are you addressing me? If so, are there not enough pics of it in this thread or the one in my sig that would answer this question? 🤪
