All season tires for S63 Coupe

All, I’m thinking about removing the Continental Summer tires and replacing with a tire that can be safely driven below 40 degrees.

I would prefer to get the old girl out of the garage and run her every week or so as opposed to make efforts at winterizing.

The problem is quite simply, I can’t find a quality tire for a 2015 S63 Coupe that is all season. It is my goal to leave all season tires on the car as I drive it as a touring vehicle not aggressively.

Any recommendations?

Ive got conti extreme contact ,and have had pirelli nero, and have had bridgestone S04. All worked well and I liked all of them. The S04 probably wore longer. Ive been in snow, ice. and 100 deg weather and I dont see much difference in any condition. It depends on how you handle the car

Ive got the Conti extreme now and they seem to basically pop when the wheel is turned all the way until they warm up. Just seems to be a red flag for me. A buddy of mine has Michelin’s on his M5 and he gets and issue at cold temps. Just seems that the compound in a summer tire is just not right. It really seems that there is no all season option out there.

Use Michelin PA4 winter tires. You’ll love them no matter the weather.
I’m extremely happy with them on my S63 Cab.
They’re NO spec, OEM for Porsche, but don’t let that stop you.

I never buy the all weather, because I am in Fl. When I see a tire with alot of multiple fine treads I take it as a all season, for winter snow use.
I buy what is normal for Fl, summer tires. Big, wide treads. I know that the compounds are different. But Ive driven in many kinds of cars for many years on these same kinds of summer tires, in the snow and ice, and I never had any trouble unless the tire is well worn and needing to be replaced. The same feelings as I do get in rain. I would think that if you need a better snow tire that any of the all season tires would work about the same. Since they have the finer multiple treads and compounds for cold. I would try a bridgestone 970 or conti dws , for all season they should be as good as any

Appreciate the advise. I should probably clarify a little more on the use of the vehicle. In the winter, I will not take it out when the roads are filled with salt, or snow or ice. Basically, I'm looking to drive it on a day thats dry and theres not a salt mess out there. I do not need to drive it, I got an X3 M40i with Blizzaks (since it came with 21" summers) for a daily (which bye the way is a great fun little suv). My goal is to give the S63 a little run here and there in the winter...Out to dinner, on the weekend as long as the road isnt a mess. But the obvious problem is that there is an obvious issue with summer tires as you literally feel the compound popping or skipping when cold. It is obviously not safe.

Ultimate goal would be to have a really nice performing tire, that can be driven in 20 or 30 degree weather but will still perform really well in the summer.

All replies are GREATLY appreciated.

If you don;t drive it on snowy / icy roads, you can comfortably use GOOD summer tires. The PS3 are indeed tricky when cold (popping, etc), but I have the PS4S now on my S63 and they perform great, also now (here it was minus 5 Celsius, so freezing) and even today (around 0 Celsius and raining/little snow) they have enough grip. Of course when you want to drive on snowy mountain roads, you really need winter tyres. HAd a look at all seasons also, but too much of a compromise 99% of the time overhere.

I grew up in Europe and had a stint in rallying (late 70s, early 80s, Team Opel, later Fiat) so changing tires seasonally is in my blood.
When you live in a place like Chicago, having all season tires brings too many compromises, mediocre in both Summer and Winter.
I keep dedicated sets of wheels for all my cars, including SUVs, relatively modest expense in view of increased safety of yourself and your family, especially at this time of year.

I second the winter/summer tire approach.
Just got back from a trip down to DC. left cold and light snow in DC.
I put a set of 19" sotozeros on and they have worked well. the extra rubber also helps with the inevitable potholes.
