(WOW) - So, I just did a RENNTECH upgrade on my S63
So, I just did a Renntech ECU upgrade on my S63 AMG Coupe (M157). It is a Renntech DE, so I cannot speak for US-based products, but over here, they call it Renntech Stage 2 ECU Upgrade.
Here are power & torque figures (dyno-based, but don't have the sheet on me):
725 HP / 533 kW @ 5350 RPM
1050 Nm @ 3700 RPM
What can I say. The response is pretty much the same, meaning when driven normally, you don't feel any difference with a stock car. The difference is when I engage S mode and press the accelerator. The car is a beast now. In fact, it is so fast, it completely caught me off guard. I have measured times with Dragy device:
0 -200 KPH in 11.7 seconds
1/4 mile in 11.8 seconds, speed 203 KPH
100 - 200 KPH in 7.2 seconds
I might record an acceleration video later, but for those, who are considering this upgrade, I would say, it's definitely worth it if power & acceleration is what you are looking for. I have no doubt that this car can reach 200 MPH and keep pushing further. I plan on doing full exhaust & downpipes and hopefully crossing 800 horsepower mark some time later.

I tuned mine about 8 months ago. No issues and the performance difference is incredible. Beware that spark plugs will wear faster than a stock untuned car. That's the only downside I've found

If you want to cross into 800HP range you would need the turbo upgrade.
I was in the same situation and that's what it took to get there, now have 740Hp at wheels, makes daily driving, with reduced traffic lately in particular, very interesting.

Knauz been doing all my cars since 2001.
They used to offer Renntech and Kleemann early on, then, about 10 years ago dropped the latter and now they refuse to do any mods on MBs.
I have a history with them, some nasty cases too and the way I handled them earned me a lot of trust and good will so I get all the work done.
In case of real trouble, engine or transmission total failure for example, I get the bill, they know from experience that I would never blame them and just eat it so we have no issues doing any work, even as drastic (for a dealer) as modifying the turbos (replacing the propellers).

So, I have installed full exhaust on my car including sport cats and first problem begin to appear.
Performance has decreased significantly - now with Renntech it accelerates like a stock car (1/4, 1/2, 60-130, etc.), with a stock map it became a really slow car. We have tried to see if a diagnostic tool would show anything - it showed some faults with fuel pump + some problems with engine control unit, we have deleted these faults and they never reappeared and car drove just fine. Everything if fine with the car, but the performance is still very poor. We have tested the exhaust if there is any kind of leak and there is no leak. We have tested if there is any lack/overboost of pressure around/behind turbos and nothing is there.
At this point it seems to me that ECU is limiting the power in some way for some reason. Did anyone experience similair issues? If yes, how did you solve it?
I am absolutely running out of ideas. Any kind of feedback will be highly appreciated!

you can get the renntech specs and $ on their site. They always spec engines as their model 157 etc and they are upgraded to the same hp spec, no matter what car they are in
