Entry seat position

Just received my car saturday and love it.

i noticed something strange though and wanted to know if its normal or not.

im the only driver of my car, so i put memory seat 1 and 2 to my position.

when i turn off the car and go out the entry/ exit feature puts my seat and steering wheel to a position so i can leave my seat comfortably.

i noticed when i enter the car again and turn on the engine, the seat position doesnt goto Memory position 1 / 2; but moves it way too forward for my seat which i believe is not normal, because ive driving other cars with this feature and it should revert back to the last used seat position.

am i missing something here or is this a defect?

as a side question i also noticed once on full stop and engine is on auto off, and when i press the accel slightly, the car jerks on gear 1 sometimes, is this normal?

There are different user profiles, this seems not (always) connected to the key profiles........did you try to play around with these User Profiles? Make the settings as you wish, then Save Profile.

I tried saving the user profile also doesn't help.

I noticed the seat position and the steering wheel go back to its original position HOWEVER, the back side of the seat (back rest) is more closer to the steering wheel than my actual setup position, so every time I start the engine, I need to still press profile 1 / 2 and the backrest will tilt backwards maybe like 3/5 cm back.

Its frustrating because it shouldn't be so confusing to use..

When using profiles it will NOT go back to last used (manually adjusted) position, but to the pre configured / saved User Profile setting.
I Solved it by using 2 memory buttons (one for norma driving, one for parking, when also my driver side mirror tilts down, normally only the passenger side mirror tilts down automatically)

I discovered the same problem in my 2018 S560 Cabriolet. The tech explained that it won't go back as far as I set the back rest position in memory for a safety issue of people in back seat. It was annoying to always have to press Memory 1 after the seats automatically moves into place when entering car. The only solution I found was disabling the automatic easy exit feature. Sucks that it doesn't automatically raise steering wheel and move seat after shutdown but now I'm used to it and its better for everyday use.

Same with the 2020 CLS450. The seat only moves a short distance and only when positioned well forward. Totally useless from my point of view. If rear seat pax are of concern to MB, then they should install a proximity sensor on the driver's seat.

Cars
I posted this concern back when I got my Edition 1 4 years ago and it has been the bane of my existence with this car. It will not ever go back, like my CL600 seat or any other Mercedes CL I have ever owned. Why this wasn't addressed when the car was built is beyond me but It frustrates me to no end. Any excuse is just that, an excuse. If all the other coupes went back to its original position, there is no reason why this car wouldn't either. The only explanation is that not enough people have complained about it and they need to reprogram all of the S Coupes to go back to where it was originally. I have turned off my easy entry for the seat because I don't want to be shoved into the windshield every time I get into the car and have to hold the button down on the memory, until it goes back. chalk it up to a forgotten programming issue.

Agreed. On my 2021 E coupe, the easy exit/ entry seat feature doesn't work at all - although the steering wheel does move.
I was told the seat has to start out all the way forward, which makes no sense to most of us. The manual doesn't say that.
This seems like an easy software fix.

I'm going to try calling MB Customer Care again.

Of course a workaround is to set seat Memory button 3 with the seat all the way back. But that's an extra step.

Seems like MB is losing it and designing features which they never check out. They should develop a fix for all models where the easy-entry does not move the seat the way it should!

I just got off the phone with Chris, at Customer Care. He checked, via skype, with a technical advisor, and was told that, just as stated in the manual, if the feature is properly enabled and the driver's seat is not already in the fully rear position, it is supposed to move to the fully rear position when you turn off the ignition and open the driver's door. No software update is scheduled.

Looks like a visit to the service department needs to be made.
