She is beautiful, expensive and about as much fun as an old guy can handle. Taking delivery next week of this “new to me” 2017 S63 AMG Cabriolet in Designo Mocha Black with Saddle interior. After searching for this combo in one of the many R129 and R230 restore flips over the years (and missing the one SL55 I ever found), I have finally taken the plunge on this beautiful example for my very own. She has 38,400 miles and is still under warranty until April 2021 (at which point I will extend with MBUSA- need advice on this process). I’ve read through the forums for the past couple of years that I’ve been looking for the right opportunity, and I look forward to meeting other owners and hearing your experiences, feedback and advice. She is also going to need a set of rotors very soon, and although I am considering the CCB upgrade in the years ahead (maybe when I get the extended warranty) for now I’d love any thoughts on FCP vs Girodisc vs OEM for the rear rotors. I like that the Girodisc rotors are a bit lighter and they are great on R230s, but not sure if on this heavier car whether OEMs with the cross-drills might be best.

Wow, congrats. The color combo is supper appealing.
As for rotors, I highly recommend the Girodisc with Rado dusk free brake pads ( exclusively made for world motorsport from Japan ) If you didn’t know already, the Girodisc rotors are a 2 pieces rotor and when it’s time to change them, you can just replace the rotor rings instead of the entire rotor and they are much lighter than OEM and much much cheaper. Rado brake pads reduces allot of the brake dusk by almost 50% or more.

My only concern with this car was the increased weight and the extra load placed on the rear by the leveling computer. Thank you again!
