s65 lithium ion battery cost
Thanks
Maybe the Time for trade in is approaching if the future costs for repairs is going to be this high once warranty runs out in 1 year.
thanks for your answer

The dealer advised my battery was replaced last year (2016 S63 with currently 16K miles)
Anybody used a battery maintainer?
I have the MB model (rebranded Ctek) but have not installed it yet. Based on the operator's manual it looks like I need a specific 12 v socket to plug in to. Apparently the factory socket in the trunk is an "accessory socket" and requires the ignition to be on. Good for operating the 12 v air pump provided but not a battery maintainer. Looks like the W263 and SLR are the only MB equipped with a suitable 12 v socket from the factory.
I will be at the dealer Tuesday to install and address a few other small issues...

Today the dealer confirmed that the socket in the trunk is an accessory outlet and not suitable for the battery maintainer. The maintainer operating manual advises that only the W263 (G Wagon) and SLR have trunk sockets that are suitable for using a battery maintainer. Take a look at your maintainer manual (I think page 4) where it advises that a socket needs to be installed to use the male lighter plug except for the two models mentioned. It clearly does not advise that you can plug the maintainer into any accessory socket.
I admit that I have read other reports of people using their trunk outlet. If it works for you, I am glad but continue to be confused by what "experts" have told me.
I was also told that the lithium battery is better at holding a charge than the lead acid type battery and that I should not expect the same poor performance that I experienced with the consumer battery in my SL 550.
When I inquired about signs of a failing battery like "gamepoint" experienced I was told that if I start to sense a "slow" start or see a battery warning light flash, I should plan on a visit to the dealership.

My dealer rewired the existing socket in the trunk, adding a separate in line fuse mounted on the left side of the fuse panel located in the trunk (right near the factory socket) so my trunk socket is now connected directly to the battery.
Now if I could just figure out if the "reset" button needs to be pushed every time I use the maintainer. I pushed it the first time I used it but now the lights come on when I plug it in, so I am wondering if the unit has a "memory" that recognizes the lithium battery after that first use.
