Which has the least cabin noise?
Hello,
I have an S550 2016, sedan, L version. I was thinking about getting an S Coupe V12, I believe the only model is the S65 coupe, but may be wrong.
For me the silence onboard is the 1st quality that I expect.
Does someone know if the S sedan is quieter than the S coupe?
thanks!

Don’t expect much of a difference. V8 is a very quiet engine and cabin isolation is very similar. You should get RR Ghost/Wraith, which is significantly quieter than both.

The AMG models (s63 and s65) are geared towards a sporting drive so they will introduce more engine noise, you may or may not like those types of noises but they will be there for sure. If you don’t like engine sounds, stick with the 12 models, the maybachs will have more insulation.

S600 or Maybach are quiet.
All of the AMG cars are about fun... Noise being a part of that. My S-65 makes an amusing noise at full chat. S-600 is silent.

When the S Class Coupes were first introduced in 2014 (MY15), many, many of the most notable publications said, "the new S63 Coupe is the quietest car ever made, to date". They credited the body design for being exceptionally aerodynamic and the double-pane side windows in addition to the insulation, seals and other soundproofing.
I find it pretty damn quiet, until I stomp on it. Quieter than the S550 sedan? Maybe.

I have a 2019 S65 Coupe and 2020 S560 sedan. Both are very quiet and very pleasant. Is the S65 more quiet though? I don't think so. (I never really paid attention to be honest) By far the S650 Maybach will be the quietest. Mercedes touted them as having the most quiet cabin of any car at that time. Even though the S65 coupe (AMG) and the S650 Maybach Sedan share the same V12 engine, the exhaust I believe is different and they do tune the engine differently thus the Maybach is much quieter. Keep in mind as others have stated that the S65 coupe is an AMG and is designed for some performance driving - so when pushed the engine wakes up (in a good way). Also, the tires on the coupe are sportier - which also means not as quiet.

My S65 Coupe is incredibly quiet. I am almost disappointed with how quiet it is. Amazing insulation + an incredibly smooth engine.
My C43 is much louder, with pops and snaps audible from the driver's seat. Less insulation + seems to be tuned for louder or more audible experience.
