Rear head restraints

So I have a new to me 2019 S65 Coupe. Love it but wondering a few things as I explore her:

1) do the rear head rests fold down? There is a button on the drivers door and when I push it I hear a click but nothing moves? My old CL 600 did having fold headrests.

2) it seems that the idle is a bit lumpy. I would expect the V12 to be almost motionless at idle. Runs fine otherwise.

3) is there a short cut to bring up the parking cameras?

Thanks to all those that contribute to this forum.

Congrats to your S 65 coupe, looking forward to seeing pictures of your ride.

I will try to answer question 3, try holding the camera park symbol button, hold it until the camera brings up, if not the pre-facelift S 65 might have a 360 camera button on driver side near the light switches.

The lumpy idle is normal for that car. Mercedes lowered the idle speed to an almost ridiculous 500 rpm in order to meet the EPA idle emissions reqs resulting in that "lumpiness".
The rear headrests come out when the rear seatbelts are in use and retract when you place the car in reverse. You can also make them come out by holding the headrest button.

Not sure about the 2019 models, but in the 2016 (pre-facelift) model, the camera button is on the left side of the dash, but only works when at slow speeds. Also, the V12 at idle is not lumpy at all, it actually feels like it's completely off (even though it's still running [and auto-start is off])

Congrats
I'm a proud owner of a 2019 S65 coupe as well, and yes at idle I feel like I'm going to stall out. I was planning on bringing it up at my next service.

I have a 2019 S65 and mine runs rough at idle. (It blips every now and then). Otherwise, perfect. I love that car by the way. To the best of my knowledge, there were only about 40-45 S65 Coupes sold in 2019. Im in the Los Angeles area. Would you mind sharing where you're at?

Sarasota FL. The numbers I have seen on the forum are lower, closer to 38 or 39. Would be interesting to do a roll call thread for 2019 S65 Coupes and see what we come up with.

This is a text from a valid source at Mercedes corporate when I was purchasing my car and asked him how many were produced.

Hi Sal, great to spend some time with you yesterday. Thanks for your business and your support! There were 37 model year 2019 coupes produced for the US market.

Wow that is rare! Did he say how many cabriolets? Can you ask him?

I didn't ask him how many cabriolets were made, but I'll ask him for you.

Thank you! The more numbers you can get from him the better. Everyone knows the 217 altogether is rare but no one has ever been able to get actual numbers! It would be great for all the forum members if he can help us get a breakdown of all the C217/A217 produced 2017-2019 (S550 Coupes and Cabriolets, S63 Coupes and Cabriolets and S65 Coupes and Cabriolets)

Wow, only 37 2019 S65 Coupes produced for the U.S. market. That's even lower than the number I was given. Thinking back, I think what my guy told me at the time was that MBZ 'Sold" 40-45 S65 coupes in 2019 (He wasn't sure exactly) but a few must have been 2018s (I guess). Either way, they're rare. As haa stated above, it would be nice to know the breakdown by model/year.

That is indeed rare, sounds even rarer than limited editions and I guess S 65 Final Edition, C 63 S Final Edition and E 63 S Final Edition. Another rare one was probably the Maybach Carbriolet.

I think my 2016 idle rpm is somewhere in the 600-650 range, but that's hard to confirm since it's just watching where the digital needle is relative to the little lines on the screen. Smooth as butter, as if the engine was off.
