Purchasing 2017 s63 convertible
Hi all , I’m looking into purchasing a certified preowned 2017 S 63 cabriolet. I wanted to see if anyone has had any issues with this vehicle. There are not many available, and for the price point I feel it is a great bang for the buck. I used to have a 2007 CLK 63 with the M156 motor and that car was a nightmare for me. It was in the dealership for service more than in the garage. If anyone could share some things to look for or any history, which was negative that they have had I really appreciate it in advance. The dealer is giving me one year of certification and I’m able to purchase two more years of certified preowned warranty as well. This car is not local to me and I would be making the deal without seeing the vehicle. Thank you in advance guys and hoping you’re able to give me some feedback.

A lot of things to consider, what does the Car Fax look like? Service history? How many miles? Is it located at Mercedes-Benz dealership? Is it Mercedes Benz CPO they're offering or a 3rd party warranty provider?

the car fax looks good . It was leased then owned by one person . The person who ones it last traded it in at the MB dealer who has it now . It has about 36000 miles on it . It is CPO from MB . I have the option to add another 2 years of the program as well through MB CPO . There aren’t any accidents on the car fax as well .

Great car, engine and 7 speed transmission and 4-matic transfer case are solid MB quality. Reliability same as as any S class of that year in general. Cabriolet mechanism is fairly reliable and not aware of any issues pertaining to that added complexity. Brake pads and rotors are very expensive and it is a very heavy car that tends to wear out the expensive tires quickly.

Nothing particular with 2017. It was a great year for the S-Class and Mercedes celebrated it's 130th anniversary hence the S63 Cabriolet Edition 130. Only issue is telematics in 2017 relied on 3G which has been largely abandoned by cell phone companies so don't expect to be able to activate the subscription remote locking and unlocking and car tracking etc.

I have his car, absolutely get it! It’s the rarest of all the S63 Cabrio (it’s a 1 year production run and the only S63 cabrio model year to get the M157 5.5L). It’s 2018 switched to the less desirable 4.0L.
‘’mine has been bulletproof. It’s a CPO car, and other than AFE Pro Dry (oil free) air filters its stock. Adding SS brake lines and Castrol SRF soon for maintenance purposes (fluid needs to be changed anyways) but as long as you don’t mod them too much they should be bulletproof

awesome news . I wish it had the upgraded grille and dash features but I feel I’m really going to enjoy it . I do not plan on modding it and I will be adding the additional 2 years of CPO warranty to give me 3 years in total from purchase . Thanks for your feedback as well !
