Back in 2018 we custom ordered a new E63S for my wife to drive, it is a very nice car and she also had an SL600 to drive on top down days. Four months ago we sold the SL600 to our next door neighbors who really wanted it. That brought her “must have” for a convertible front and center. My SL65 is not available for her to use a daily driver. She also wanted a bigger car. The decision was I would find a low mileage S65 Cab for her. She had a long list of requirements. Things such as a white interior, no black exteriors, Carbon Ceramic brakes, must be the V12 Biturbo and a number of other things around the steering wheel and electronics. Basically she preferred the simplicity of the electronics in my SL65 and the absence of any capacitive touch controls on the steering wheel. She always seemed to accidentally brush her hands of the touch controls and change the displays.
After months of searching and ruling out eight alternatives I finally located an S65 Cab she wanted. Designo Alanite Gray Magnolia Matte exterior with the Crystal gray version of the white interior. Carbon Ceramic brakes and 25k miles. It is a 2017 but has the Panamera grill installed. Now we have to sell the E63S.
Very nice, welcome to the S coupe club. Love how the S65 comes with Swarovski crystal headlights, wish i had them. Now you just have to figure out phone holder/charger, get some basic Benz-ninja mods (ILS for sure), tint (Xpel) (clear tint on the windshield to protect dash leather), PPF (Xpel) and/or ceramic coating, and good sunshade (Covercraft) to protect the dash leather. I went through many iterations of the phone mount/charger before landing on the setup I like. The magnetic mount also charges, its very nice to not have to plug the phone in every time and it snaps to the magnet. One benz-ninja modification he and I came up with is using the the fan speed hard button to turn off the HVAC system since the only other way is through the HVAC digital menu (not exactly quick to do). With the fan speed on 1, an additional push down on the button will turn off the system. Good luck and hope she enjoys the car. I have only seen three other S coupes in all of Houston over the past year and one of them was mine. They are somewhat rare cars and even more so with the S65.

Wife is pleased with the car. Ir was at the dealer for three days to get a new key plus an alignment. It takes three days and a lot of money to get the new key, have the metal emergency key cut and program it in the car.
The alignment was interesting. After we got the car I drove it to Newport Beach and back on the toll road, it pulled right and continually wandered off a straight line even though it had recently been aligned. The toe and camber were within tolerance but not perfect, the caster was way off, each side in a different direction from the spec. I did not ask how it was done but the caster and all the other settings are now right on spec. Car drives much better now.
Nice car. One minor concern that might be a non-issue. The 2017 did not come with the Panamera grill. That is an after market addition. Make sure its done right and that everything is working properly.
Everything works correctly with the Panamera style grill. Interestingly the dealer also had a 2017 S63 Cab with a Panamera style grill. They did not install the grills. The grill in our S65 looks factory in terms of fit and quality.
