There's a shop in the Jacksonville, FL area that's repaired a bunch of leather dashes that are separating (Porsches, Mercedes, LandRover, etc). They do a pretty good job with the dash. But it involves them making a cut in the corner of the dash, which they sow up, but it's obvious to the naked eye.
More importantly (for me), the stitching just below the dash (eg if you have the red interior, it's the red contrast stitching just below the top of the dash) starts to get wavy, and that's NOT something they can repair.
To each his own, but if that were my car, and I was stuck staring at that wavy stitching every single day, I'd just spring for a new dash. They're only about $3K.
I recommend having the MB dealer service manager check for availability of a replacement leather dash. I was going to replace the one in our 2017 S65 Cabriolet but a replacement was not available and the order system would not accept a back order as there was no plan to restock them. At least for the specific leather and color in our A217. It has been repaired and the dash looks visually perfect. It is possible to see the repair looking in through the bottom of the windshield, but it is not real obvious.
The exterior is 044, Designo Alanite Gray Magno, the interior is 568, Designo Crystal Gray/Black Exclusive Nappa Leather.

Wow... Aside from the Night Package, and possibly the CF engine cover, that thing is HARDloaded. I've rarely seen convertibles with the ceramics... Very nice. And sorry they said your dash was NLA.
Thanks for the comments. The car has option code P60 AMG Night Styling in addition to code 773, Carbon Fiber Package. The Carbon Fiber engine cover is standard on the S65.

I forgot yours was a S65. So I guess the silver trim between the door & the windows/windshield, across the trunk, and the badges + exhaust tips are all silver/chrome stock? I assumed that when I've seen them black, that was part of the Night Styling Package. But I guess I'm wrong, cuz per the DOG:

FDNewbie, it is a bit more complicated. When the 773 CF Package is added, the lower front splitter, the rocker panel inserts, the lower rear apron and the mirror covers become carbon fiber rather than black. Our car also has package 5U2 which changes the Air intakes and Flics to black.

I see, having both is certainly a good and viable option as well.
I just had my windshield replaced today and I glued mine back
My glass guy came to my house and he said I could do what I wanted, while he prepped the new OEM windshield. I popped out the defrost vents and heads up display cover, then pulled back the leather and used contact cement on both surfaces, ( the texted backing of the leather and the dash itself) and I used a heat gun to get the leather pliable and ultra soft. Once the glue was ready, I ran my hand over the warm leather and it went back in place, now you can’t tell that anything ever happened. The windshield was free, so why not? I’m beyond excited.

Super happy to hear that worked for you. Now make sure you get the windshield tinted (40%-50%) and use a windshield shade when parked outside to help the glue last and the repair hold up for a long time.

Can you post a picture of what the results look like? I'm about to pull the trigger on an S550 coupe that is almost flawless minus some peeling.

Not sure if you're still in the market, but I've been tracking availability of my dash (Option 567 Bengal Red / Black AMG Exclusive Nappa Leather) which was backordered with no ETA in sight last year when we exchanged forum messages.
I just got back with my parts guy @ MB, and he said like 40+ of these dashboards are now in stock, and the price has dropped significantly.
I previously was only after the top piece in black with red stitching, cuz that's the only area where the leather had lifted. That piece alone was like $3200. But apparently for $40 more, you can get the whole dash (including that top piece). A few months ago, there were only 4 in the country, and they were going for $2900/each. Now that they're 40+, they're $2300/piece.
Do I need the entire dash? No. But for $40 more, it's a nice insurance policy to have. And apparently, MB does this often. If you wanna buy a single part out of an entire larger part, it's only a few dollars cheaper than buying the whole thing. Eg, if the armrest lid goes bad, the entire center panel + lid is only $40 than the lid alone. Crazy. Must be a financial strategy to encourage you to buy more parts.
In any case, thought I'd give you a heads up, as if they have a bunch of the Bengal Red dashes now in stock, there's a pretty good chance your Option 568 Crystal Grey / Seashell Grey AMG Exclusive Nappa Leather top dash piece (and entire dash) is back in stock. Hope I'm right!

My service manager is on it, but the dealer's parts manager is away for several days for training so unlikely I will know this week. The car is scheduled in for its routine service the week after labor day and I would like the dash replaced then. Should know the status by Monday.

No way! Is that why it took me 6+ months to finally land on the A217 I wanted (with Bengal Red interior, hardloaded, with CF interior & exterior package)? Makes me feel a bit better about settling on a vehicle that had the build & maintenance history I wanted, but the dash wear I didn't.
Where can one access the breakdown of interior #s and other such options for the A217s?

Gotcha. Hoping for the best my friend. Oh and FYI, it's a lot of labor to swap the dash, not just cuz of the actual swap time, but also cuz the dash comes bare, so they gotta swap *everything* from your original dash to the new one (vents, buttons, controls, etc etc). And of course, for me, I'd wanna get all new clips, fasteners, etc at that time, so you don't end up with a horrible rattle after re-install...
