S63 vs E63 S
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to join the AMG family and currently driving 2015 S550. I talked to a salesman about buying S63 AMG, 2018 however, he told me if having extra room is not an issue, is better to get the E63 S. The engine and transmission is the same and is almost as comfortable as the S63. How accurate is this comment? He also told me that there is more room for the discount on E63 S compared to the S63. Please help me make a right decision.
Thank you,

The E63s is nowhere as comfortable as the S63. It is much firmer. Consider it stiff. S63 sport plus feels like E63s Comfort.
The E63s comes with standard or performance seats so the feel maybe different based on which setup you will test drive.
We have the E63s launch edition which has the performance seats. It’s fun to drive, it’s more agile than the S and definitely the faster car. While it has all the nappa leather trimmings, the S-class is more luxurious.
In terms of discounts, around here the S-class has bigger discounts than the E but this may vary by region.

Thanks for your note Wolfman. I actually test drove the S63 and found it more comfortable than E63s. I think the sales man was pushing the E63 more because they had a bunch in the inventory and wanted to get a rid of them.

I am not sure if you are buying or leasing but be prepared for high depreciation and high lease rates. Nothing like the deeply discounted prices/rates of the 2015 S550...

So the MSRP on the E63s is 125K. They offered me 18k discount with 2 years maintenance and one time free brake pad change. But I think the S63 is much more luxuries than E63s as you mentioned before.

You were offered a $27k discount on a 2018 S63? Wow, I only got about $10k off and people said that was a great deal at the time 3 months ago. I'd run back to that dealer and buy that S63! RUN SIR! . I LOVE my S63 and it's the 3rd one I've had. I had a 2012 before this one. What color combo were you looking at? Are you going to get it? This community makes ownership 10X better than not having this community.

Yours is beautiful. I have seen lots of good review about the new S63. A 9-speed new transmission, turns this car into a smooth powerful machine. I will pick up mine on Sunday. Thanks again.

S63 all the way. They both have roomy rear seats, but how often do you utilize it? I have the warmth and comfort + rear entertainment and never use it. Only two people in the car for 95% of the time. Besides the rear seats though... what would make you want one or the other? They both look great, but I am bias towards the s-class for its size. Bigger is better for me.
You guys have some great discount, I paid 189k including 10k mark up. Now theres that. Price, then options, then what you want in your car. I was pretty happy with my obs blk/blk nappa with carbon fiber. I just wish it came with the right rear foot rest for that "look at what this car has!" that I will never use.

Where are you that you are able to get such discounts?
$20k+ is below invoice, here in Chicago dealers won't budge, they don't have cars available anyway.

For the OPs, you may want to share the dealers name. While our local discounts are pretty good, yours are some of the best I have seen anywhere ...
