Back into an AMG- just bought a 2014 Ruby Black S63- HMS sound clip inside
After getting out of a 221 S65 about 4yrs ago and into Supercharged Jaguar XJL I finally got back into an AMG last week. I purchased this 2014 Ruby Black S63 with the Porcelain Nappa leather interior. I’m almost certain it’s got every option available in 2014 and it came with the 7yr/100k mile warranty which is good for another 2.5yrs. I’m amazed at the difference between the 221’s and the 222’s! They’re light years apart. I was hesitant on the color as I bought the car sight unseen out of state, but after seeing it in person I absolutely love it. It’s very hard to describe and I’ve never seen another like it. The contrast with the interior/exterior is very tastefully done, IMO.
I also put on the HMS exhaust on Saturday- all I can say is, if you don’t have one on your 63 you don’t know what you’re missing. It’s absolutely incredible. It now sounds like an AMG should!! And, that suspension…..man, I missed the ABC days from my 220 and 221 65’s. Good to see that the air suspension seems to be just as capable as the hydraulic system was. This car has nearly zero body roll and weight transfer between braking and accelerating seem almost non-existent.
It’s so good to be back behind the wheel of an AMG. After my first drive in it I was quickly reminded that that there really is no comparison. Zero. This thing is absolutely incredible from appearance to performance.
Looking forward to talking with you guys again!....and learning! I feel like I need to take a semester of AMG school to learn all the functionality of the car.
Gorgeous car and you're right, there's nothing like one. People can look at pictures of these cars and think "eh, they're just OK". But if you drive one for a few hours, then... you really know how especially nice they are. We have something in common now, sir! Oh, and nice wheels
Congrats! I too have one in Ruby Black, definitely a color to be appreciated in person. I would be interested in hearing exhaust clips, as I've been wanting to do something to mine. Deciding between just a resonator delete or just going for downpipes.
beautiful car bro! congrats!!! love the exhaust note!
The more i drive it with the HMS exhaust I’m reassured its the best money I’ve spent on a car in years. It’s so tastefully done i cant even describe it. I highly recommend this system to anyone who’s debating whether or not they should purchase it.

How much was the exhaust. And where did you purchased it?
I purchased it from the seller of the car that never installed it for 2k. The invoice that he has from HMS was about $4,100.
Yes, the car has cats still. The pieces in the pics are exactly what was removed/installed. As you can see on the HMS set the resonators are deleted and the mufflers are slightly different.
We installed the entire system taking our time in about 4hrs from start to test drive - and that's on a garage floor. If we had access to a lift that would have been a 1.5-2hr job.
Its a direct fit with zero cutting/welding and it uses ALL the factory hangers. Quality system for sure. I believe that forum member "azizblue" currently has one for sale??
Another clip here- notice the difference in the turbo's spooling up.

Congrats bro. Glad she is in good hands. Rest assured there isn't another car identical to this, atleast in US. That car was babied and cared for to the extreme. Dealing with HMS was fun with the time difference and language barrier, but the quality and sound is second to none. I can only imagine what it is like with the tune. I'm sure the sound is going to get better once it all gets coated in carbon.
