On stock wheels and tire sizes not lower, you need 12mm front and 15mm rear with extended lug nuts. Same wheel and tires above and lowered, get 10mm front and 12mm rear with extended lug nuts. Good luck.

Ok so I'm planning on lowering by ab 1" or 2" via odb which is ordered.

AMG multispoke 245/40/20 stock tires front AMD 275/35/20 rear....

What did you do to yours and do you have photos? Thank you very very much.

On my 2017 W222 S63, i had it lowered via EBay lowering module on stock wheels, but I had 4 new Michelin PS4s mounted using larger width tires and they are 255 and 295 which did it for me. Being lowered and wider tires makes the car look and perform better taking corners. No spacers or long lugs needed. Here is photos of my car:

As some people might come to this thread as they begin the learning and research of wheel spacers. This video has some good basics as a starting point:

I’d like to lower my car to close the gap by a few inches before I buy new wheels in the springs...but why the change in spacer thickness when lowering it?

So the preferred is 12mm front and 15mm rear?

I was planning on doing 15mm front and 25mm rear. I have stock AMG 5 spoke wheels that are 8.5” front and 9.5” rear. Are my specs too aggressive? Will that cause rubbing when lowering?

You will need the spacers to let the wheels sit flush with the fenders especially if you are going to lower your S63. With stock spec.ed OEM wheels and tires and lowered without spacers, it would look out of place. 12mm front and 15mm rear spacers would look and handle/perform better. Good luck and remember to get an alignment after you lower it.

I really appreciate the insight! Looking at purchasing some spacers as well as lowering links or the OBD2 lowering module.

I would suggest you get the OBD lowering module because you can lower or raise your S63 inside your car within minutes and also recommend getting α 4 wheel alignment after you lower in. Best of luck and enjoy.

I would suggest to get the obd lowering module first. Lower your car to desired height. Than measure how much of a space gap you would need to fill with spacers?
