How to get rid of MB Fragrance
Dear MB owners,
Does anyone have an idea on how to get rid of MB Fragrance inside the car. By mistake, I turned it on to 'test' it, and my wife can't stand the smell (and having a allergic reaction to it). The sad part, is that it lasts a long time (years). Any ideas? (I have tried coffee beans, charcoal, uv and the bottle is out of the glove compartment).
Appreciate your thoughts...

Have you tried changing the fragrance to something else? I heard someone refilled their empty vial with Creed perfume and that is strong.
I retrofitted the fragrance system in my S63L and it's just one hose that runs from the Air freshener unit to the vents right under the widescreen, if you lift that you will see the hose hole, maybe just put a cap to close the hose hole temporary until you figure something out.

Thank you for your reply! The 'Creed' concept actually might work, but I will use something that 'washes' out the oils (like alcohol) to clear internal tubing... Will buy an empty vial on ebay and try it.

You can go into the climate settings and turn the system off or set it for more or less fragrance. We have been using Freeside Mood. I know people have tried or are using other chemicals in the fragrance dispenser, however I would think that after a period of time, there could be an interaction between the components of the car and interior trim pieces. Another words the fragrance or chemicals was not designed for the car and interior components. Possible deterioration. Just my thinking. Good luck.

Thank you for the response. The fragrance MB uses is extremely chemically stable since system was turned on for maybe a few minutes, but the smell lingers for years now... it is similar to Armorall's smell in terms of stability... Sadly I have an amazing car with almost no miles that sits in the garage because my wife can't stand being inside due to fragrance smell... and the car took too much depreciation to sell
(( Wish MB would use something more natural (organic?) in their fragrance choices or at least have half-life in days, instead of years...
Will post if alcohol 'cleaning' will work
If someone has allergies, my advice would be to check the MB fragrance before using it it the car...

WHAT????????? This is the craziest post I have ever seen on this site, ever. It bothers her that much and you took it out of the car? That is amazing to me. At this point, and she must be VERY sensitive to smell, more sensitive to smell than most anyone... I'd bring it to a professional detailer and have them do something with it to rid of the smell. I just don't see if the vial is out of the car, and it's turned off, that it would be this bad where she can't even ride in the car.

Professional detailing (several times) by the dealer did not do the trick. Personally, I like the smell...

You should go buy some McDonald's food like fries and a Big Mac and let it sit in the car for a while. That will get rid of the fragrance quickly! Or find some odor your wife likes and put it in the car. That will help. If all else fails, get a new wife!

That really surprises me. I can't smell any trace of the MB fragrance unless its actively being dispersed. When I open up the door to the car, it doesn't smell like the fragrance at all.

Sorry but calling BS. I had used the fragrance and then didn't for several years. The perfume disappeared like any other in a matter of days. It is no special secret formula. It would be impossible to pick that out over the fragrance of the detailing products. Oil is misted and dissipates in the air. Allergic reaction that caused what?
I get she didnt like the aroma as that is a personal choice but as far as it impossible t remove from your car? Come on.
I actually miss not having a car with it in it.
