Trickle charger
Up here in the Northeast, with all the salt and snow and crappy drivers, I have put my car on the lift for the winter. It will be hibernating for the next three months, until it warms up enough to be able to start washing it on a regular basis. In putting the car away, I have put a trickle charger in the car. It has been plugged in to the cigarette lighter. Not sure if this will work, or do I need to pop the hood and connect it to the battery? Any information on this would be quite helpful.
Safe, Healthy New Year and thankx, in advance for any assistance in this regard.

Best choice for the battery we have:

By the way, how do you take care of the Cabriolet's fabric roof?
Good luck.

Thanx for the help. The car is on the lift and I have attached a charger/maintainer under the hood.........just don't close/lock the hood and all is fine. I will remove it in March as she awakens from her winter hibernation.
BTW: mine is a 4 door, so I can't help you with cabrio top maintenance. I would suggest Griots Garage, AMMO NYC, Obsessed Garage are good places to start......good luck.

Thanks for the tips; you probably saved me from damaging the convertible's top. Griot's has the right product for it. As one customer puts it: "I also like the fact that this product is not damaging to rubber or vinyl. One competitive product that is frequently used on convertible tops has a warning that it damages rubber and vinyl. Since many convertible tops are constructed with an inner rubber layer, this could cause a problem." That was precisely my concern!
Can't wait for the good weather. Thanks again.

With a screen you get starting voltage and charged up voltage a great piece of info on how healthy the battery is .
With 3 to be concerned about the oldest and only original battery starts off the lowest and charges up to the lowest readings meaning it's days are limited .
