Performance Tune Advice

I just purchased a 2019 S63 with only 573 miles. Im looking to tune the car and was leaning towards AMR, but of course they are the only people in the industry that charges "taxes" on their tune and seem to offer zero discount to MB forum members. They also seem to be the most expensive. If im not mistaken, most tunes are very similar in performance. Im looking for advice / suggestions on other good options?

Thanks in advance guys!

I personally went with OETuning (on my m157 s63) and it has been flawless. Price was right, advertised power increase was in line with renntech, weistec, amr.

Unrelated to mercedes, for my wife's Porsche Macan S, I went with a racechip piggyback and very very satisfied with it. They have a 30 day no questions asked return on their units if you want to give it a shot on your s63.

Thank you Sir, I have used OETuning in the past with great luck. It just blows my mind AMR charges tax on something that is not taxable. Any others ?

In Feb you asked the same exact question about E63S, now you are asking about S63...Were you not satisfied with previous answers?

I have the following. 2016 S63 4matic around 56,000 miles. Eurocharged ECU stage 2 tune, Eurocharged TCU stage 1 tune, Renntech diverter valve, Renntech down pipes with high flow catalysts, Renntech sport mufflers with built in electronic valves, Blackboost cold air intakes, Weistec transmission pan, Weistec billet oil filter cap, Spool Performance silicone intake pipes. I have had no issues with anything. No leaks, car runs strong and perfectly. No codes. I have not had a chance to get to a chassis dyno facility. Its appointment only and only during the weekdays. I honestly do not think many people mod the S class. More people mod the C and E class. The S class is after all a 6,000lb luxury cruiser. It weighs as much as two Aventodors. Lol.

What improvements did the Eurocharged TCU tune give? Do you feel it was worth the investment?

I believe what you would be able to feel would be negligible. Unless timed. I believe where the improvements are, are in the line pressures. More clamping force with the clutch packs. Therefore, you can run more power and torque. The tune for the ECU was mailed to me and I downloaded the tune to the handheld unit. It can store multiple tunes. As for the TCU tune. That was done live. I had my laptop hooked up to the car. I scheduled a time with Eurocharged. Called them and they took over the laptop and did the TCU tune. Had a charger hooked up to the car to make sure we didn't have any dips in Voltages. Everything from them has worked perfectly. The next mod I plan on testing is replacing the Renntech high flow catted down pipes, with Redstar cat less down pipes, with heat shields and tunable O2 sensor spacers. Can't wait to see what that sounds like. I hope this helps.

Negligible?
How many HP’s do they claim it adds? Renntech adds like 100HP, I am sure one would feel the difference with that tune. Is your tune not close to that increase?

I was answering mostly about the TCU tune and filled them in on the process of both tunes. There are two tunes you are able to get. The TCU tune only deals with the transmission. It adds no power. The ECU tune is for power and torque. It deals with the engine. I feel all the top-rated tunes are pretty close to one another. Comparing horsepower and torque. I have not been to a chassis dyno yet. Very difficult to get to the one I have chosen. They are not open on weekends, and it is by appointment only. I have called them. They are a German repair/mod shop. Hope all this makes sense. Also any of the tuner companies will answer any questions you may have. I have talked to Renntech and Eurocharged. Both have been very nice, and I have spent a lot with both companies. I only have two parts from Weistec, however they are hard parts. They have also been very nice. No issues with anyone.

Barry, I would interested in purchasing your used Renntech high flow catted down pipes for my AMG S63 5.5. LITRE

So far, I haven't really decided what I am doing with it. It is a very nice system. Eurocharged got back with me about the stage 2 tune. Unless I want a custom tune, it should be good to go, even if I switch to catless down pipes. There is no way I could ship the exhaust. Two areas use slip joints. Even though I bathed those connections in Anti seize, it won't be coming apart. Lol. The new exhaust system is several weeks out on being built. So, its going to be a while. If you lived near me, it would be better for pick up. If I decide to sell. Thanks for the enquire.
