1st trip to dealer for a service, they have new $300,000 car wash but...

Hi Guys, Went to my dealer for the first time today for service at 5500 miles, emailed them to please don't wash the car, I only wash it myself, yet when it was finished, it was totally clean. They washed it. I thought... NO? I saw their machine with brushes a few months ago, NO! They said, we just bought a new $300,000 car wash machine that uses microfiber cloths over the car. I told them it still must retain grit in it and mess up the cars but they said it "shouldn't".

In any case, it looks great! Was filthy dirty when bringing it in. Do you let the dealer wash your car? Not sure I would let them wash it again, I only hand wash my cars but ... I wonder how bad it is to use their new car wash machine?

It's all about them swirls... any car from 20-30ft looks great washed and shined up

The same people who screwed up the repeated direction not to wash your car also told you that the microfiber cloth material will not scratch up your car. They seem super reliable.

I suggest you NOT do that. No need to increase your blood pressure.

So, how do you like the S63? I previously had a '20 e63 that I sold a few years ago and still regret it...the S 63, while expensive as ballz, is on my short list Does it drive as big as it looks?

We didn't have a choice, we couldn't find another 2018-2020 S63 with similar features to what we had before so we found this 2025 with 4000 miles, least expensive one in the country for sale 6 mos ago when we got it, for $41k off MSRP. It's been a serious learning curve, we never plug it in, it's parked in a garage 15 min walk from our home so we just use it every other or 3rd week or so. We like it a lot, though the 2020 would have been better for us since it's simpler. She loves the huge screen and I like the way it looks. So basically, it looks pretty killer, just like the 2020 car, last year of the 4 door W222.

It handles fine for what is is. No complaints really. Very comfortable, though it doesn't do anything better than the last W222. Here's a pic below of my buddy and his 2021 G63 and my new car.

Yeah, I just googled 2025 S63's on cars.com and it came up as the least expensive one in the US. I was thinking, why would a $216k car be selling for $174k? I asked if they could do any better, they said no, so in 1 second, I said, yeah, I'll take it sight unseen. It was 1700 miles away in Houston, I'm in Maryland. They shipped it up for free to me. Amazing deal. The guy was a doctor and traded it in after 6 mos for an SUV. Crazy good luck I guess. Looked brand new when it arrived. Not a scratch on it and it had front PPF on about half the car.

2019 AMG S 65 and too many other vehicles to list here in this small box
That is a great looking car and an even better looking deal. Wow that's a windfall for you to get such a nice spec on a car for that price.

I know you don't have them but I would love to hear the details of the original owner and his decision to trade it in on a SUV.
You know the stealership made money on the deal so the original owner had to take around a $50k hit for driving this thing 4k miles = $12.50 per mile.

So congrats to you for being lucky in your search and finding such a great car. Hope you have many fun miles on the road!

There are many who trade off at 6-12 month intervals.

Depreciation doesn’t factor into the decision.

I’d like to be in that position.

Every time I see or hear about the AMG fuel cap, I want it a little bit more.
My starting point was not knowing about it, and of course, not wanting it
I don’t want to want it just out of jealousy or FOMO, or a form of peer pressure.
Stop mentioning it, or I may become obsessed.
