The GT 53 does NOT incorporate the rear steering motors. That is available on the GT 63 & GT 63s only. The GT 4dr is developed on the longer & wider platform shared with the E 63s Wagon. The GT 53 has a better ride, more articulate steering and robust throttle response. While they both use the (M256) same power plant, the mapping is different. The CLS 53 is a great vehicle, but you can feel the difference when you get behind the wheel of the GT 53.

You can specify rear wheel steering for 53. Not for 43. 63 has rws standard.

GT53 is a fine handling car, better than the CLS.

Sorry but you cannot specify rear steering on the 53 level. It's not an option and only available on the 63 level car.

I think GT53 with Active RWS make the car a pretty compelling proposition.

It's still a pretty compelling proposition without the RWS too. :-)

I am sure it is a compelling proposition against the CLS53, but not against an E63s which only costs $7500 more.
You simply get a much better AMG with the E.

Driving wise yes, but looks wise is where the GT even in 53 form gives the E63s a hard time.

Just picked my AMG 53 up this past weekend. Judging from a test drive of the CLS Id say the GT 53 is definitely on another level in handling. The gt is more stout and beefier without compromise on power and it hugs the road on curves like its velcroed to it.
