Suggestions on where to mount a radar detector

I gave up on the idea of tapping into a fuse myself for my Escort 360 Max radar detector. My dealership is going to wire it for me tomorrow.

Has anyone mounted a radar detector detector in their GT 4door, if so where? I want my cake and eat it too by being able to see it but not have it be obtrusive. Technically in the no-fun state of California you are not allowed to mount anything to the windshield (although everyone does). I am leaning towards to the right of the rear view mirror.

Thanks in advance.

Radar detector power had to be run from the trunk

FYI, I found out today that all of the fuses located in the cabin at the drivers and passenger side boxes are powered all the time. My dealership had to run a power wire from the detector to the panel in the trunk so it would be switched with the ignition.

update: got my car back. FYI I attached a photo of where they connected the power for my radar detector In case anyone is interested.

I wired mine to the fuse box on the drivers side, they are all indeed hot all the time, I just had to get in the habit of turning it on/off each time, it is no longer a big deal

UPDATE- found the diagram and indeed there is no acc fuse on the inside. That's the first I've seen a car without this. Even my S63 had on the driver side fuse box.
Has anyone tried one of the empty non used slots to see if that works on the passenger side? Or is the only choice running from the rear.. Which is a pain to do.

There is a fuse box on the passenger side. Does anyone have the diagram to that? There must an accessory fuse like the cigarette or rear view mirror fuse?

I went thru this exact situation. It took 5 minutes in my S63. For the GT63 there is a fuse for the cigarette 12v in the passenger well. It won’t help. I finally gave up and called the service manager at my dealership. The only option was power had to be run to the trunk. They did not charge me to do it.

Thanks - I ran the wire from the trunk to the front passenger and it was a pita. Thought it would be easier but took about 1.5hrs to fish the wire thru.
I used the rear 12V socket at 5A fuse holder. Works well. Now I have accessory on/off power to the radar.

GLS 450
Two sources that I haven't heard discussed yet. (I am a new owner of the GLS 450, so just beginning to get into making my changes).

Has anyone located the wire for the front cigarette lighter (in the forward console)? That would provide 12V and is fused. Tapping into that power wire would be the least work if it's location was known.

I understand that the Fitcamx dashcam uses a "y" spice connector in the rear view mirror tapping into the rain sensor, so that must be an available power source. Wonder if you could buy the y adapter and use that to power a radar detector. I might reach out and see if I can but the cable alone...
