what platform does the GT63 come off? the W213 or is its own?

 

It’s a modified ‘E’ isn’t it, Vic?

 

I believe reading the platform is modified off the E wagon (AMG)

 

I think its an extended version of the CLS chassis (which piggybacks off the E). Maybe someone else knows better though...

 

As Bones has already mentioned, GT63 is using E Class Wagon floor pan.
From press release:
"the model is actually based on the E-class sedan's MRA longitudinal-engine, rear-wheel-drive architecture..."

Does the 2020 model year come with the new MBUX system or not? I could not find this information on the 2019 having it either?

Nope, it has the Command 5.5 system. The 2019/20 GT also has the old switch gear. MB is doing a major refresh of all the switches and wiper stalk. The GT 4 Door, unfortunately, is currently built with the current generation, and not the new.

 

So buying a 2019 vs a 2020 has no tech advantages?

 

Maybe they fixed a few bugs and enhanced the software in minor ways, but there's nothing tech-wise that is new for 2020.

 

I was thinking of selling my 2019 for the 2020 with carbon roof but I don't really need it right?

 

Not unless you think the CF is worth about $50K

I was more talking about the huge hit you’ll incur by trading in the ‘19 for the ‘20 just to get a CF roof.

 

That would depend on how much they will take away for the trade-in. I would probably lose out like 20k maybe. I hope.

 

It also says "Delayed Availability", but that is probably cleared up by now.

 

Its available. I have one in my showroom

 

I like the sunroof so I guess I'll keep my current. If I had the CF roof I think it might look too overdone with CF on my car as it already has the CF package.
