I believe the 2022 and 2023 C-class are made in South Africa. So, I assume, the shipping companies used are different. Maybe contact MBUSA?

2019 AMG C43
I have a 2019 C43 with AMG PE and love this car. Its a company car and I have to turn it in October. We get new cars every 4 years. Last time...back in 2019... I was looking at the M340i XDrive and the AMG C43. This time I cant see why I would not go M340i XDrive. The LCI M340i with idrive 8 looks great, the 6 cylinder B58 engine is proven to be one of the best engines BMW has ever made, and the ZF 8 speed transmission is legendary. Plus, I just saw where BMW was ranked #1 by Consumer Reports on Quality. On the flip side...my beloved V6 biturbo is now a 4 cylinder and I hear Mercedes having a terrible time programming the 9 speed transmission....plus...now there is no AMG PE on the C43. So please help me...I love my 2019 C43 but it seems the 2023 C43 has lost 2 cylinders, its PE, and went up in price? Plus, from what I have seen...Im not confident that the 2023 C43 could match the 0-60 of the M340i XDrive. It looks like the M340i....will walk away from the 4 cylinder C43. Like embarrass it. Am I missing something. Help me stay with the C43....but frankly...that M340i Xdrive looks like it has the clear win. Help!

Yes, BMW is ***. With unique exceptions such as the M5 comp.

I would agree, drove M850 and M8 before I ordered my GT 63 S. Wished I liked the BMWs as I would have saved myself a lot of $$.

Have you gotten any updates? If so, how long did it actually take to get through the VPC? My car is set to get to the Brunswick, GA VPC today and hoping for a quick turnaround.

No updates at all. Still being "processed". Hope your VPC journey is faster.

oh man, I'm sorry to hear that. Hopefully it'll get through soon. A few dealer across the country already have some for sale, its hard to understand whats taking them so long to process and ship.

Well now I know of at least 2 cars built after mine that are in the US, while mine is still languishing at the Port. Makes no sense to me and no explanation either…

Sorry to hear this. Hope it is put on a ship soon. Mine is still at the VPC with no updates (checked yesterday).

Separately, for all of you with custom orders, I recommend comparing the final build sheet with your originally input order. The dealership and I had input two (non-critical) options in the build and submitted as such (along with the rest which were critical). The final build did NOT include the two non-critical ones and the dealership was never notified of this change by MBUSA. After some digging around, the answer we got from MBUSA was "factory constraints". I can live without those two (my 212.2 E63S doesn't have those either) but it is still annoying that there was no notification.

We had pretty similar builds, so what was left off? Guess I’ll have to prepare myself for that as well..lol

The two items were:
1. 581 - 3-zone automatic climate control.
2. U80 - 115V outlet.

The U80 was the more important one because that would have made it a true go-anywhere GT.

I don’t have either of those on my build, so maybe it’s still intact in Bremerhaven …

@Dicecal I really hope they get yours on a ship soon. It doesn't make any sense why it's sitting there. I went to Sindelfingen to do a factory tour 2 weeks ago and they said they dont have any limitations/delays to the US right now.

@us_cali did you have the Executive rear seat package or standalone add-ons? I have those two items part of the package and it'll be interesting to see if it's added to the car.

They were standalone add-ons. I did the 3-seat bench instead of the executive rear seat package. Apparently, the executive rear seat packages do NOT have this problem but would be good to hear whether you get them or not. My current thinking is that either the chips needed for those electronics were prioritized for the ones with the Executive Seat pack or there was an issue with the molding pieces that did not allow for the standalone options to be added.

Well I just got a screenshot from Netstar today. It looks like for some reason, the car may not have left the factory till March 14? Best I can decipher it….

Not exactly a warm fuzzy, seems kinda strange! IDK what local option change means either…maybe one of my options wasn’t filled either and the factory changed it to get the car out the door?

Yes I did order the wheel locking bolts. But I’m curious why my car was delayed at the factory for 2 months…..

Can’t be a good thing…

I hope it was just a delay for you and not a "missing pieces" story like mine. I'll keep y'all posted as I hear more.

Just had my salesman pull my current build sheet like you suggested, fortunately everything is on there!
