New 22 AMG GT 43

Hey Guys,

Im new to the forum. I just picked this up yesterday. 2022 AMG GT43 for MSRP!
It checked 9/10 boxes for me. I wanted yellow seat belts/interior stitching and didn’t have to wait. The only thing it didn’t come with was the AMG performance exhaust. Did you guys have any recommendations for aftermarket exhaust systems. I just need a little more growl lol

Congrats on your new vehicle, PE is standard on the C 63s for USA I am surprised it isn't for the GT 43. Retrofitting the PE is a possibility but it is probably not worth it, I guess start with downpipes?

I've heard the PE is just the valves being opened.........nothing else. Get a valve control module....it opens the valves 100% whenever it's enabled. Even with the PE, the valves only open 100% at full throttle and only partially when you actually enable the PE.

That is certainly a possibility but exclusions like the C 43, where it is a different exhaust altogether, I wonder if that is not true for the GT 43?: https://mbworld.org/forums/c450-c43-...-complete.html
Here is how the exhaust looks on an E 53 shared by forum member CinyMBGuy: https://mbworld.org/forums/w213-amg/...ml#post8506081

Well my car doesn't have the AMG performance exhaust. So it’s not compatible with the module. I called them today.

Same problem

I got the same car and needed an exhaust as well I went with the armytrix for close to $5,000 and let me tell you it’s horrible. It does improve the sound but nowhere near the price of $5,000 worth. Fiexhaust could be worth it to try? I’ll be exchanging mine forsure.

wow thank you for that. I was strongly considering going with ArmyTrix. I can’t believe it’s only 2 options for exhaust on this car. Fiexhaust on YouTube sounds good.

No problem. I wish someone would’ve told me but I guess I’ll be the test dummy haha. It doesn’t sound bad but it’s still quiet. Could be the Cat on these cars are very big and would need to remove it but then that would require a tune. Waiting to hear back from armytrix. And if this is how it’s supposed to sound I’ll be exchanging for Fi

Ya that sure is frustrating, i guess there is also iPE but neither did I hear it nor seen anyone recommend it on the forums for the GT 43 specifically (or maybe I don't happen to come across such thread yet).
OP, since I mentioned downpipes and you don't like it, would you want to do a secondary cat delete instead?

Sorry to hear that, I hope things are resolved to your satisfaction.

So I’ve contacted them and still no reply back from Armytrix and vivid racing which was the dealer I bought it from, so I guess I just got ripped off for $5k for my car to sound the same haha. Probably need to add some down pipes to it. Going to try that next since I’m already deep into the car sounding louder.

Sorry to hear that once again, hopefully someone still ends up replying to you, if not can you go back in person and ask for assistance on this?

sorry for taking so long to reply, wanted to check back in. Have you found a solution yet to making the car sound better? After all the fuss with the armytrix exhuast i was left with no choice but to go with a downpipe and DME ecu tune. its been a month and they're still working on my car, a bit frustrating but they are hopeful I'll have it by monday or tuesday

Question

I’m planning to buy a AMG GT 43 mild hibrid too.

Is it worth buying??

Does the mild hibrid system really helps to save fuel?

Does it cost more to fuel even with the hibrid system in it than a ML 320 SUV?

Well, you are comparing a family SUV to a performance oriented vehicle, Going from a SUV to a four door sedan alone is quite a chance. To answer your question, the mild hybrid system does help save fuel as it allow the car too coast to a stop and when you are in slippery mode or reduced engine mode, it will coast with engine completely off. That said, you could had achieved the same yet even less fuel consumption in an E-Class E 450 facelift, I believe the GT 43 is more expensive than that car, you could also consider a CLS 450 perhaps. That said, if you are set on the GT 43, you can't go wrong I think.
