Loud Crashing Noise from Suspension
Has anyone with a GT 4-door noticed a very jarring, loud, crashing noise when only slightly stressing the suspension?
My E-Performance with the air suspension does this when going over certain bumps at low speeds.
It doesn’t sound healthy, like metal on metal smashing. Has anyone else experienced this??

Run flats? They have metal in side wall. Could also be loose suspension pieces or exhaust. Hopefully the dealer can sort this out.

Interesting. Mine has air suspension. I wonder if they
even come with blocks as the “spring” is an enclosed cylinder of air?

Yes, shipping blocks are used on air suspensions as well to prevent them from being compressed and potentially damaged during transport. They do look different, though. Tried to find a picture, but all I can find are for the ones used with coil springs. The blocks serve the same purpose regardless of the suspension type. The prevent the suspension from being compressed during transport. Primarily so the cars don't sway left to right and bang into each other on the tightly packed shipping vessels during stormy waters.

Ok thanks Swiss, I’ll definitely have a look at this! Tomorrow I’m heading to my “toy room” where I have a lift. I’ll get the car in the air and have a look! I’m hoping it’s as simple as this and not some bigger issue

FWIW, if you still have shipping blocks in there, the suspension would also be super harsh as you basically would have near solid springs.

It feels overly harsh. The air suspension still works though as I’m able to raise it for steep approaches. Would you be able to do this with shipping blocks?
