Front License Plate Bracket

Good evening all (In Eastern Time).

I have a question about the front plate bracket for the ‘25 GT 4 Door, specifically the 63S and E Performance. I’ve had the plate on my front visor but I’m getting dirty looks from the law and have been given 2 warnings. I went to install the bracket today to mount the plate and I noticed there are no holes to allow this, the vehicle is North American. You literally have to drill through painted sections of the front. I looked into a tow bar mount but this blocks the parking sensor. Since the front of the vehicle has had a face lift for the models mentioned, no manufacturers seem to offer a solution. I’ve reached out to Carbonio and sent pictures to see if they can create a custom solution for me.
Am I missing something? Does anyone have a solution?
Would love to hear from owners that have to run a front plate with the latest top models of the GT 4 Door.
Thank you!

For sure, but they don’t seem to have a GT 4 Door option other than for the 43 and 53.

I’ve already contacted Carbonio and sent them pics of my front end. They make custom products if they don’t have your model available. I’ll see what they have to say.

Unfortunately yes, the license plate holder for most MB/AMGs attaches to the front bumper via self tapping screws. I did European Delivery, so I had to have a front license plate while in Europe, but when the car arrived in the USA, the VPC restored the front bumper to factory conditions. Technically, I'm required to have a front license plate, but I wasn't gonna drill holes again, so I don't have one. Only ever got one ticket on a previous car for not having a license plate. In some cities like San Francisco they give you a ticket if the car is parked on the street, so I don't park on the street and since I don't daily drive, so far no issue with the AMG.

California does have a pilot program and one can legally have a vinyl front license plate "wrap", but it requires a bumper that is at least 6" tall, so that's not gonna work on these cars. Outside of tow eye brackets, which IMO look even worse than having a regularly mounted front license plate and those that retract, or some other custom mount, you'll end up having to drill into the bumper if you can't get away with not having a front license plate.

Maybe if I got some insane 3M double sided tape or similar I could use that with the OEM bracket where AMG expects you to drill holes through the paint? Would have to be some serious tape to handle that amount of force!!

Cops

My state requires a front plate but I refuse to drill a bracket into my bumper. I was pulled over once for dark tint.(in a shopping center parking lot of all places), then he mentioned the lack of front plate. What he was really hoping for was to find a drug dealing criminal. Sorry to disappoint. I lied and said my dealer ordered the bracket from Germany but we have been waiting for over a year. He wrote me a repair order for the tint. I took off the tint, got it reinspected then the same day had the tint put back on.

When our state wanted to consider no front plates to save money on manufacturing, the police unions fought back in protest.

I have 3 Mercedes none have front plates. Worse case it's a $25 ticket at least in my state.

It is not just you, or the States for that matter, in Canada, Ontario specifically, the cops did the same. They want to see your plate number front and back not just back.
