SL/R231: Anyone running a front license plate?

It looks like crap.
You can always take a chance and drive without a front plate; I did for many years but then hit a streak of getting ticketed for it.
So instead I found a cheap and Great (IMO) way of installing the plate without drilling. Looks better too.

Any suggestions?

FWIW, he instigated the stop in a confrontational mode, then dropped down into a back-and-forth mode, then into a conversation and we parted rather amiably. I learned quite a bit with that one traffic stop.
And I installed the front plate as soon as I returned home.

Less ideal but there aren't a lot of options if you need a plate mounted. There is of course the ugly tow hook mount where the the license plate sits on one side over the tow hook cover.
Or you could move the camera into the grill or off-center.
Good luck!

Try the mount; it's $20 purchase at most...

Just FYI, I just used 2 long stainless machines screws with a large washer (1" or so) assemble all without the license plate and then just push the washers through the grill. Just tighten and you are done. The washers become the back plate.
Took 20 minutes of which most time was spent to replace the factory screws with stainless steel ones. Zero rust after 2+ years.
This is required if bad weather is involved otherwise it will rust.

Haven’t run a front plate on anything for years. Probably jinxed myself, but I’ll just pay the ticket.
