Hi Guys,
New to the forums (used to have a C55 a few years ago but sold it). I'm back in a Benz and this time it's 4wd! Let's go adventuring!

Sweet. I just started offroading in my GL450. It's a surprisingly capable vehicle. I just bought five wheels (Ebay) and put Dick Cepek Trail Country tires on them. Tried to do a trail, but the one I picked had rocks too big for me to get anywhere.

Traction was fine though I had a tiny bit of wheelspin climbing up it. The dirt is really soft, like a powdered clay.
I was pretty confident I'd scrape the bottom. Clearance is 13" and it looked like it was right around that. Furthermore, the driver's front suspension would have compressed when the front went down.
Had the suspension in offroad lift mode, of course.
Turns out I was right, because I did scrape the bottom going over a smaller rock about ten minutes later.
