Wrapping a C63 thread

Wanted to start a thread regarding wrapping C63 entire car and individual parts.

I wanted see if anyone has done a white wrap on their car. If so, any info on if it turned out well and how white held up-potential stains from environment etc

If you have a picture that would be awesome as well.

Not wrapped, but hydro-dipped the rear chrome strip to match the carbon spoiler.

I'm in-progress getting the whole car wrapped in Xpel Stealth, which is a matte clear finish. It basically makes the car look like it has the factory designo matte paint job.. with the added benefit of real protection versus colored vinyl that's fairly thin.

Will post pics in the next few days in another thread.

Nope not wrapped, it's an original Black Series badge with the black series wording removed. Matches the original chrome one perfectly.

First few weeks were very annoying, because the film came loose on tricky/curvy parts like the side mirrors and front bumper so I had to visit my workshop (which is in another city) several times. They told me it is normal, so I forgot about it and hoped I can enjoy my awesome matte red car for the next 8-10 years without further problems.

Anyways, just last week I discovered a small hole in the film located on the front bumper. So much about the paint protection... Once my C43 arrives I will definitely wrap it again as it makes washing much easier, but this was the first and last time I spent my money on this expensive XPEL film.

I sincerely hope your wrap lasts longer and my experience was just a bad coincidence
Honestly, if you discovered a hole, then the film did it's job. It probably would've been worse without it.

I went with XPEL because guy doing it is only charging me $500 more than regular vinyl, even though the material costs twice as much. I was actually considering wrapping in a blue finish before.

Just have the rear bumper and rocker panels to do, which he'll get done early next week.

Sorry about the VSCO filters.
Its supposed to be self healing but I don't know if a hole will go away or not (size)?

Yes you have to remove it. I just bought a new one. The process is a water transfer of the carbon to the chrome strip.

If you go to you tube and search for hydro dipping you'll see the process.

The chrome strip is held on with around 6 plastic clips and a full length strip of double sided tape. I used goo gone to remove the tape then a pry tool to pop the chrome off.

If it seems tricky then I'd suggest a simple traditional wrap.

I went for the dip as once coated in 2k clear coat it looks more real than just vinyl.

Hydrodipped carbon looks like a really bad fake sticker. Don't convince yourself otherwise

Wait, material wise 3M/Avery vinyl is about $200-300 per car wholesale. Expel is about the same. It was more to vinyl wrap my other car than to expel my c63. Weird...

I dunno, Xpel Stealth everywhere I've seen cost about double that of colored vinyl.. and even textured.

It's also more of a PITA to put on, as the material is thicker and doesn't conform to nooks and crannies as easily.

I think that's Xpel Stealth over black?
