What are new S Cabs selling for?
190k msrp, was told can buy for 170k. Is this good deal or avg right now? I was told they were selling over msrp at another dealership but they are'nt moving at sticker. this one has been sitting for 3-4 months.

If you can get 5K below sticker then your dealer really likes you. There are only 40 or less S63 Cabs for sale nationwide. No incentive whatsoever from MB and only $500 fleet discount and not even one payment of loyalty accelerator program applies.

2019 AMG S63 Cabriolet, 2018 AMG GTC Coupe (sold), 2017 AMG S63 Cabriolet (sold)
$20K off an in-stock S63 Cab is a really good deal. My dealer offered me $14K off a $200K msrp factory ordered custom car, which sounds about right.
You can definitely get deals. Don't fall for the usual b.s. about how these are limited production cars that are selling for over sticker, so hard to get, etc. MB will make and sell as many as willing buyers it can find.
For the cab in particular, demand will drop as the weather gets colder in many parts of the country. Winter is coming, as they say...

My S63 Cab factory order is for a MY 2017 as well and my dealer did indeed give me 7% off msrp. Two other dealers were in the 5-7% range. Now, I did visit and negotiate in person, so that may have helped, as my experience is they won't offer much over the phone. Also, dealers typically get additional incentives and bonuses from MB, so going below invoice is not unheard of. Depends on how much they like you and value your business, I guess.

While I'm a big fan of current M-B designs it is getting harder and harder to tell exactly which model you are looking at from any distance. The new C class cabriolet is a stunner and a pint sized S class cabriolet. When the new E class cabriolet comes out looking quite similar too, the effect will be that M-B cabriolets come in small, medium and large versions of the same. My gut may be wrong but I feel that the smaller sizes, especially the E class, will put pressure on S class pricing and much better deals will be available. I have a new S 550 sedan which I'm very pleased with and have been thinking of getting an S63 cabriolet though I would prefer at its price point that it stood out style wise a bit more from its younger smaller siblings. Just saying...

There are plenty of S-Cabriolet's in dealers stock. Keyes Mercedes (Van Nuys, CA) had several on the lot about 4 weeks ago. (they are the 2nd largest MB dealer in the U.S.). Fletcher Jones in Newport Beach, CA had several as well. (They are the largest MB dealer in the world). I'm sure they'll discount them a lot if you're buying one of their cars that they have in inventory. (Especially since winter is upon us)

It would be nice if it looked like this/above (kinda like the old w208 from the side) but I think this is more of what to expect below. The car will still be pillarless albeit retaining the weird looking small framed rear side fixed windows (the rear side windows are tinted/blacked out here):

Went to a huge MB dealer where they have 6 on the lot but they don't seem to want to discount much. I want one but with so much built up inventory, I'm gonna wait for the right deal which is bound to happen.

148 S63 Cabs in 50 states is barely 3 cars per state. That's not "bulit up" inventory and until last month there was less than 1 car per state available. Per MBUSA there is currently no discount whatsoever on that car. Not even 1 early loyalty lease payment forgiveness and only $500 fleet discount. Per my dealer the S63 Cab sold much much better than MB expected (He sold more than 20 since July 2016) and you should not expect any meaningful discounts on the 2017 S63 until the end of 2017 after the spring and summer seasons since most of the convertibles sell then and current winter inventory build up (3 cars per state) is very much expected for a convertible.

A lot of cars I have found at dealerships are not listed on Autotrader so, taking that into account, there are more than 148 currently available in dealer inventory nationwide. Almost all of these are at larger dealers. My local (small) dealer can't get me one for at least 5 months, but almost all the large dealers are sitting on tons of these.
Not many used ones, though.
