Got new ones with the rims I ordered from TireRack. They are 433 Mhz TPMS sensors. The shop I got to install my rims and tires programmed them to the car for me so everything is working as with stock rims.

It makes sense to order a new set of TPMS sensors when you purchase new wheels. If you choose to sell the OEM wheels they are more desirable to potential buyers when they know they don't ave to go through the hassle of purchasing new TPMS sensors on their own.

So, about to pull the trigger on:

19x8 et45 (with 15mm spacer)
19x9.5 et51 (w/wo 5mm spacer)

245/40 F. 275/35 R

OR

235/40 F. 265/35 R

Leaning towards the beefier tires and increased diameter that comes with them (in margin of acceptable difference).

Fitment Question on C450

Hi Everyone,

I am a new owner of a C450 and am in need of a summer wheel and tire setup. I have been through this thread trying to understand all the fitment questions. I'm terrible at understanding the mechanics of it all.

I have found some wheels with the following specs. I think they will work, but can anyone here confirm?

- F 19x8.5 et 32
- R 19x9.5 et 42

that rear is likely to poke. You need closer to et50 for the rear on a 9.5

the front will work with a 245 tire, but likely not more.

Thank You! By my cals the rear would poke out about .77" more than the factory 18" wheels. .5" for the wheel width and .27 for the 7mm offset variance. Is that correct?

without overcomplicating things I'm not going to answer that.

Use this:

http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

basically - find set-ups that work and stock measurements to give you an idea of what you want.

so 20x10 et55 fits the rear nicely. The set-up you have questioned about is 7mm more aggressive and would poke past the fender without rolling/lowering/dialing in camber

tire size also has a huge roll in the equation. So you typically want to compare the same fit that you will be applying.

So, you can run as skinny as 255 (even more but then you're dabbling in that stance life fitment) on a 9.5 without an insane amount of stretch, the OEM fit is 255 on 8.5 (which is considered more of a square fitment).

Even tires vary from brand to brand and those specs can be looked up online too.

This all starts to boiling down to more advance users/fitment.

Basically, I would recommend 9.5 @ et50+ to be safe for the rear with a 265. If you want to fit a 275 you'll want to throw more allowance to fit the more bulgy sidewall.

Then you want to make sure the front and rear fitment make sense as a package. Like, visually, running a 245 on 8.5 up front will look goofy as hell if you're stretching a 255 on a 9.5 out back.

I have 10jx20 ET45 in the rear, and the wheel does not poke, but it is the limit!

What suspension are you running? Any issues with rubbing back there?

Also, what's your front specs?

DAMMIT! I know, I may've posted something like this before.......but if only I could've gotten one of these estates in the USA.

I mean, not even by special order?? Sh--. On a brighter note, at least an E400 Estate could be in my future.....thank God Almighty.

Suspension is coilover KW Variant 3. Suspension can be lowered 15mm more, but with 30k miles every year i decided to put it a little bit higher.
Wheels in front are 8,5j ET 42 with 12mm spacers.
Wheels are Ispiri FFR6.

No rubbing issues at all. ;-)

Hey man,

What part number did you use for this kit? The KW Variant 3's?

Thanks

Need some advice !

Hello All!

I'm new here - purchased a C43 AMG coupe a few weeks ago and just in the process of perfecting it for myself!
So, I'm looking for some nice rims + solid winter tires, hoping to get a good deal entering summer. I'd prefer at least 18s - but 19s would be nice as well - doesn't need to be anything too pricey because they'll just be for the winter months obviously.
As for the tires, I've heard that Michelin X-ice Xi3 or Bridgestone blizzaks WS80 are both solid choices. Thoughts? Costco sells them for about $840 CAD for a set. Is that a decent price?

Thanks for all the help!

Big-Omz

You need to get spacers to get the front ET down to 30-32

The rears will be good.

Thanks man, they can make me any offset I want so what would you reccomend for front then 30,31,32? I don't plan on lowering the car.

You know, I'm not positive what is best. I just know that the tolerance for the front on an 8.5" wheel is between 30 and 32. So maybe 30 would be best to have a nice flush-to-the-fender look?

I suggest getting someone else's opinion as I wouldn't take my word on it cause I am certainly not an expert on all this wheel/offset stuff. Just learning myself as I just bought wheel this week.

Can anyone confirm that our lug bolt thread size is 14x1.5?

All my research is showing this but it's usually always showing older cars up to 2015 at the latest. I can't find anything that confirms that 2016+ cars still use that. I'm sure they haven't changed it but I just want to be 100% certain.

Want to order these for my CH-R's that I'm installing next week. Thank you in advance

I can confirm that this is correct.

I linked those to you originally with choosing proper spec for your application.

I've got nothing to add to this thread. I just wanted to point out that your response caught my attention. You don't see many posts as humble as yours these days since everyone on the internet acts like an expert in every field. Truly admirable Sean

Amen to that Tej7. Speaking for myself, I know a lot about some stuff, but then again I don't know sh-- re: many others like wheels & tire numbers and offsets and such. Always asking my specialist to teach me a little; always learning more.

And yes, while our boy Sean displays quite a bit of knowledge that he is happy to share, he also comes to the table with much the unfilled glass - to paraphrase a Bruce Lee concept - and an open mind.
