Guys,
Just bought a C450 and like the Niche Lucerne wheels in 20". They make a 9" ET38 and 10" ET40. I'm thinking that's not quite right for this car given everyones experience...?
I'll lower the car with springs and this is a summer setup. I don't need the wheel flush with the fender, maybe just in a bit for safe measures.
For tires on 20's, it seems the right size is 225/35 and 255/30 however Discount Tire told me the weight rating is too low on the 225/35 tires for this car. Any experience there??
Thanks,
CD

OEM 19" tires are 93 and 96 index
All 225/35/20 and 255/30/20 tire load indexes are 90 and 92 respectively. I'm wondering how much of a risk that is? Tirerack suggests them, Discount Tire not so much.
Not many to choice from in 20":
Sumitomo HTR Z III
Yoko S Drive
P Zero Run flat
Mich PSS-low tread life
All of these are 90 and 92 indexes.

Ok, so Niche flow form are out. I'll keep looking for a 20" 8 and 9" wide setup.

OK. I'm going to give a bit of insight of why I keep saying things won't fit.
I got the 18" 5 spoke wheels thinking I would use them for winter and throw a set of 19s on for summer. Big mistake as we all know, nothing fits this car. If I had known that, I would have gotten the 19s, which look great anyways and be done with it.
18" wheel/tire specs:
Front: 18x7.5 ET 33 rim, 225/45/18 tire.
Back: 18x8.5 ET 49 rim, 245/40/18 tire.
So, being that I'm stuck, I had a set of 15mm H&R spacers that fit this car. I threw them on the back, perfect, the wheel was now flush.
So with the 15mm spacers in the rear, it gives me a final ET (offset) of 34.
I decided to throw it on the front and see what happens, knowing it would poke. Well it poked out about 5mm, so back on the rear they went.
I then had the car lowered on H&R springs.
The 15mm that worked on the rear before was now 5mm from being flush with the fender. So I put the 15mm on the front and bam, it was flush with the fender giving me a final ET of 18 in the front. So I ordered 20mm spacers for the rear, giving me a final ET of 29.
Before I lowered my car, I stuck my fingers in her and felt around. I could only fit one finger between the wheel and the suspension. Let's say that is about 5mm. I wish I could get both fingers maybe even 3 fingers in her, but she's TIIIGHT.
So anyways, plug this information into this website: Willtheyfit.com
Front: 225/45/18 18x7.5 ET18
Rear: 245/40/18 18x8.5 ET29
That will give you flush with fender without poking for front and rear with the OEM tires, on a lowered car. Figure it will poke about 5mm for non lowered cars.
Now plug in whatever wheel you want, and see how it fits. We can also roughly assume that we have an inner clearance of less than 20mm from where my wheel sits. Reason being, I had about 5mm before the spacer, so adding the 15mm spacer should give us roughly 20mm and NO MORE.
So for sh*ts and giggles lets plug in fstclyz desired wheels into that website.
225/35/20 20X9 ET38.
It says right off the bat that its going to be 39.1mm closer to the suspension strut. Well through my unscientific research, thats about 19mm too much. Even if I'm wrong, I don't think I could be off by more than a few mm. Hell lets say I'm off by 10mm. Still, won't fit. Unless you don't mind the wheel poking out.
Also keep in mind on a stock height car, that's already poking by about 5mm.
Disclaimer: I'm not responsible if it doesn't fit. The stock tires are pretty round, so something like a Michelin PSS might end up being too wide.
Edit: Didn't bother with the rear since we don't have any issues with that.

Correct its not the C450 shown, sorry I should have been more detailed but speaking to Vorsteiner again today to confirm, the ff 101, 103 and 106 with 8.5x19 ET 46 (245 35s) front with a 5mm spacer and 9.5x19 ET 45 (265 30s) on the rear will fit. They claimed they have fitted several 450s with this setup.
The pics I posted are with this setup but yes its on a C250. Asking for an opinion whether it looks too aggressive. I do agree that maybe lowering it will help but stock does not look great.

Also, this makes perfect sense, you typically gain about ~5mm extra clearance when lowering to a moderate level. Sometimes more upfront.
Care to post some pics?

Thank you but it's not mine. Just a pic I managed to find that had the wheel and tire combo vorsteiner is saying fits the 450.
Without lowering it I think it's showing too much of the wheel well. Im thinking using 235 40s and 255 35s may be better with the higher profiles than 245 35 and 265 30s. I'm waiting for vorsteiner to see if that option works.

Stance SC5's
Hey Guys,
Just another quick question, a local guy has a set of Stance SC5's off his 2013 C63 for sale. The sizes are as follows;
19x8.5 +45 with 245/35/19
19x9.5 +48 with 275/30/19
Do you think these with fit my C450 as they came off a C63?

No, the fronts will hit the control arm. With the addition of a 15mm spacer, they will clear the control arm.

For those of you still wanting to fit aftermarket wheels on your C450-
Here is a link detailing the application that Brabus is offering using their Monoblock S wheel...this is an older wheel, but was a clean design and it is a 1pc so it is somewhat affordable, but still a Brabus so it is a bit pricey for a cast wheel.
http://www.motoringexposure.com/3703...c450-amg-sport
I can pretty much tell you guys that Brabus is pretty much the written Bible when it comes to aftermarket for Mercedes-Benz, no doubt they are the very best...no guessing, no mistakes!
Hope this info helps.
For those of you still looking for spacers, a few members have joined up to make a group buy on the Forged spacers and R.A.D. Lug bolts that I have on my C class running a 12mm front and 15mm rear. One of the members has a lowered vehicle and we are doing 10mm front and 12mm rear so there is no conflict with the fenders going in and out of driveways.
Any other takers, let me know...I am filling orders this week.

The ebay spacers with the extra angle space on the hub will not work...the wheels won't seat properly. Just a heads up. We did our homework and most of these spacers are fit to work on the Audi application more than the Mercedes. Just letting you know.
