Howdy,
I just picked up another AMG. I bought a 2005 C55 AMG with 70k miles. I took it today to have the headlights restored and got it detailed. I am glad to be back as an active member! See you all around!
I am loving it so far! Going tomorrow to replace all the tires, just for my own OCD purposes. lol. Im going with the stock size 225/40 front and 245/35 rear in a Michelin A/S 3 Plus. I have heard good things and I will NOT be tracking my car. It will be a daily driver with occasional spirited driving but wont be doing much hard corning. I am hoping these are a good choice. I really want good wet traction. Other than that I've got a new AMG flat badge coming to install on the hood and the silver center caps for the wheels. I may want to switch them out when I get tired of one or the other. Other mods to come are headers, secondary cat and res delete. I have been looking for a renntech intake but can't seem to find one yet. If anyone sees one, let me know!
As far as tires goes, i see that you're located in Texas so i would choose the Pilot Super Sports instead of the AS/3 Plus. I don't think you need an all season tire over there. I have them on my C55 and my M3 and and i wouldn't change them for another street tire. Dry or wet they are outstanding.
I would say as/3 plus are also perfect for dry and wet conditions. But yes, there should be no snow in Texas As for summer tires I have had a great experience with Conti SportContact 3 back in Belarus on my w203 sportcoupe.

Completely agree but I travel to Colorado and Arizona for family and vacation, so I would like to have the capability if I need it. Hopefully I won't have any trouble with them as daily drivers. If I didn't travel, I would have gone with PS2's or SS for sure.
Congrats on the car. I have been looking at intakes as well and Renntech is very hard to find. Needswings makes an air intake as well if you want to check them out.

If you still can, put 235s up front and 255s at the back, it would be perfect. I sold my C55 last year after putting 135k miles on it and glad it ended up with another forum member. There's a lot of nice and knowledgeable people here and you are driving a very reliable car. Enjoy!

I was actually going to go with those exact sizes but these tires actually run really wide for the size and they ended up looking perfect IMO. I'll take pictures of them when it stops raining in Dallas. Never thought I'd say that in July but it's been raining a lot this month and it's driving me insane because I am trying to keep this damn car clean for the summer! Lol
