Edition 1 rear diffuser install question
Has anyone here replaced the standard rear diffuser on their c63s/c63 coupe with the edition 1 version? If so was it a straight bolt on or was modification needed. I am guessing it wouldn't need any major modification since its an MB part but just curious since i see the front spliter needs holes drilled apparently for install.
I have seen the thread where a gentleman replaced the stock diffuser with an aftermarket version. In his thread he removed the complete diffuser and replaced with the new one. On the Edition 1 duffuser you have to separate the standard rear diffuser since its two pieces and then reinstall with new lower part.

I don't know if this goes for everyones car, but mine has the carbon fiber pack spec and I personally tried to install the OEM ed1 rear diffuser, took it to 3 shops one being Mercedes Benz itself and none of them felt comfortable doing it because the 3 pieced plastic fin OEM part is glued and bolted to the gloss trim and carbon fiber part. I'm still waiting on if there is actually a way on how to do it.

Rear diffuser is installed and it was easier than first thought. The new edition 1 diffuser actually goes right over top the original part. It then attaches with screws and uses the same tabs that the metal trim on the diffuser that runs across and under exhaust use. On note you will have to remove this trim piece which is not hard at all, if you have some patience and body panel tools (not 100% necessary though). Now the diffuser in the pics below are not genuine MB but the company which will be named later made exact copy's of the edition 1 diffuser parts and this was the first car they have been installed on. I was the test dummy for the company and all you guys. I think it looks great and the fitment was dead on. Sorry for the crappy pics.

Have you thought about getting the Edition 1 side skirts Vassago? I'm not sure if you have to get the entire bottom side panel or just the black fins though.

I was the test fitter for Euroteck racing, I would suspect that the parts should be available in a couple weeks. Everything went well with install so I think it should be soon.

I did look at them and thought about it, but my wife already hits the ones I have now when she gets in and out. Hell i even hit them sometimes so I'm not sure if I want something that sticks out further. I believe it's just the black insert that you have to get and I'm not even sure how they attach. If I had to guess I would say screws from behind and 3m tape like everything else. Although the front chin spoiler and rear diffuser only use screws for attachment.
