RIP board...
Hey guys, how's everyone? What a shame it seems this board has been dying a slow death lately!

Chris, we're good. Very good in fact. This board has always been unlike the others, and that's been the major plus. People here don't talk for the sake of talking. If you have questions, they have answers. "Otherwise, have a nice day" sort of thing. They are SClass owners after all. I for one like it that way. I've always found the folks here super helpful, respectful and more than anything, mature. There's plenty of the other stuff elsewhere.
Add to that, that the problems with these cars are relatively few, and the remedies well known and documented, there's just not much to talk about. When you were making decisions and sorting your car out, you got all the help you needed and then some. Other than that, "have a nice day."
Enjoy the car.

Happy to be here, though, because what I learn from the E5E crowd is helpful for this car, and vice versa (common-ish cars, common-ish ownership crowd). So from that, I've learned (and people may disagree):
(1) a software tune here makes sense;
(2) exhaust mods don't make much sense -- AMG has already captured that gain. Maybe an XPipe gets better sound, but headers are likely to be more headache than they're worth and they may reduce value in the long term;
(3) cooling mods make sense here, to keep the supercharger happy and engaged;
(4) I'm 50/50 on extra power with these cars. I don't think they need it, and I'm concerned about risking the everyday driveable reliability MB AMG has already built in, which may reduce value in the long term;
(5) I'm really interested in a TCU tune on these cars that will materially enhance shift speed, revmatching downshifts, etc. (like the TTFS tune in the E46M3 space), but I'm not convinced anyone has produced it yet;
(6) I'm 50/50 on whether a Wavetrack diff is worth the money, over and above what AMG has already done;
(7) I'm really happy with the benefit (from Nick) from different tire sizes; and
(8) Changing all fluids more regularly in these cars is the key to the kingdom.
So having done cooling mods, changed the tire sizing, and attended to the fluids, all I'm thinking about is an XPipe, a good ECU and TCU tune. Those look like "rest easy" mods that will create value, not reduce it.
Thoughts?
