Question ESP Control Module

Alright everyone I haven't been here in a while. So my ESP Module gave out and the dealership wants to charge me $1500 to replace it. I found a new Module for $325 and saw that it's only three screws that hold it together. Would any of you or have any of you replaced the Module your selves and do you guys recommend where to get it from at a better price? This is the one I found https://m.eeuroparts.com/Parts/78694...le-0075420418/

ESP Module Replacement

I also have a 2010 C300 Sport and have the same issue. MB Dealer wants $1,900 to replace the ESP module. Trying to determine if we can replace it ourselves or purchase a new or used module and take it to a local shop to replace for less.

What did you end up doing?

I have a 2011 C300 4matic WDDGF8BB2BR141991 and bought both an Autel M808 and an iCarsoft unit to reprogram a new module. I can't even figure out how to get the connector off, so I hope there are some knowledgeable folks who can enlighten us on the ESP module replacement.

Replace the ESP module is not too difficult,
un-screw four T20 screws is a bit difficult because of the space limited in that area.
The connector just has "click" on both side, put up gently and slide it left and right,
then you can pull up the connector lever easier.
Then slide the module out gently, don't pull to hard otherwise you may bend the ABS pump pipes.

After install back the working/new module, screw up four screws, connect the connector.
Then you need to do coding to the module, not many DIYer able to do this part.
- do SCN coding if you have Mercedes online access, that will complete everything for you.
or do it manually:
1. unlock the module
2. write your VIN into module
3. do variant coding that match your car
4. do calibration and drive test.

This a very old post, but still no one know!?
You need to do coding to turn ESP button function,
otherwise it is on dash menu, but pre-FL doesn't have ESP menu.

If you buy a module from the same year and optioned car you shouldnt need to do any coding.

I also got quoted $1900 to replace the ESP Control Unit. Does anyone know how this affects the safety of the vehicle? Is it an emergency situation? Will the vehicle not stop or does it engage forced stop?

ESP, ABS, and traction control are controlled by the same unit. The car is drivable and will stop. BUT important safety features are not present. The antilock feature of the brakes will not work, so panic breaking distances will increase and stopping on wet roads may cause unexpected, unstable skids. Also the car will not correct for driving on slippery surfaces and will not warn you that you are approaching the limit of steering control. That module should be replaced as soon as possible.

There may be independent shops that have a better price. Even rebuilt modules are expensive. Some may be able to install and properly code a lower price salvaged from the same year and model car.

I had my 2011 C300 B Service done at dealer. Thought about oil change only but I skipped a few times of B service so decided to perform B service this time. After a few days the ESP/ABS inoperative light came on.Went to the closest dealer they found ESP control unit is bad, $2629 to fix it! I approved the fix. I had an Infiniti SUV, one time went to dealer for one fix, and right after that another problem came out. I really wonder if it is just a coincidence, or dealer wanted to make more money.
By the way I got a 2024 C300 loaner, looks like it is a top trim. Only thing I don't like is a bit rough both sound and slight vibration from stop starting to move due to four cylinder engine not V6. Everything else is really top quality with all technologies.
